New to Tits, old to CoC II

Hi everyone, I'm coming from COC II and I really loved it, spending a lot of time on both its story and gameplay. Now I want to start TiTS. As someone coming from another game, would you recommend it to me? I only know that the story takes place in space, I don't know much else (please don't give spoilers). And is the game finished? If not, do you know when it's planned to end?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't played much of CoC2, but it probably has a lot of the same sensibilities as TiTS, given they share some writers. I'll lay out some differences as I understand them.

1a. TiTS is a solo game in combat, for the most part. You have some guest NPCs for a handful of quests, but it's not a normal part of gameplay.
1b. There are a lot of characters you can recruit to join you on your Ship. They just don't accompany you in combat.
2. TiTS is more Class-based than CoC2. You can't learn cross-class powers. There are four Classes: Mercenary, Smuggler, Tech Specialist, Kineticist (psychic).
3. A lot of TFs are random (though a lot of the more recent ones are more deterministic). There is no Alchemy-like system. I understand it's because Fenoxo likes randomness and Savin does not. (And Taint ended up going in a different direction than initially envisioned.)
4. You play as a specific character with a specific backstory and goal. You get some wiggle-room and there's a personality stat (Nice, Mischievous, Hard/Ass).

The game's plot is not finished, but they're working on the endgame now.

Edit: I see you decided to go ahead and start playing, even after getting no answers. I hope you enjoy the game and feel free to ask more questions. More specific questions are easier to answer.

The random NPCs in the game turn from cat-girls and such progressively into lovecraftian horrors as you progress the story and move from planet to planet. Just so you know.

I do recommend TiTS but there are a lot of core differences like Theron pointed out. But it's worth it if you wanna try a nice sci-fi smut rpg. Be the best sci-fi horny abomination you can be

Stats are weirder in TiTs than in CoC II. In TiTs, you can increase your stats outside of leveling by going to the New Texas Gym (this unlocks after Day 1). In fact, you want to spend as few of your level stats points as possible until you get to about level 8 and grind your stats in the gym.

The 5th planet, the cyberpunk one has cybernetic implants and your character can get 1 that boost your stats or has another combat effect.

TFing is not as convenient since there is not alchemy system. On the flip side it is much more customizable.

Don't be attached to any piece of equipment. Later equipment are strict upgrades.

Except for Kineticist, the other classes are generally pretty easy to spec, just make sure to focus on either melee or ranged.

EMP grenades (purchasable combat consumable) are really good for several robot encounters.

Quests are less clearly distinct in TiTs. There is a sort of quest log, but it's buried and less clearly defined. Several characters have huge questlines and often you can't tell which.

Much less pregnancy content, but much more diverse range of fetishes are represented (barring the ones both TiTs and CoC II flat out ban)
