New to the game, about playable races

Yo! i'm about to start CoC2 after playing TiTS and then CoC1 and i couldn't find anything about playable races, i just wanna know if Hellhound is a playable race and if yes, how i ge the TF item ? all i found out is that there a hellhound NPC

I think hellhounds are elementally-infused (fire) creatures, not demonic, but that's a bit of an aside to the thread, I guess. I think any race could be an elemental within reason (a frost-salamander being a fire elemental would probably be weird). We have the hellhound (half-lupine fire) but also the goocat (cat-folk water-wyrd).
I don't think there's any way for the player to be an elemental (maybe get a fire or frost salamander tail or trappings). It's probably not a spoiler since it happens in the tutorial, but the MC pretty much becomes the equivalent of a morphic-sex elemental creature right from the start. As we all know, Sex is the little known 5th element.

The only bad side of being the corrupted Lupine is that the game treats me as Chimera lol, probably because of the mix of Lupine + Demon, i did use some fire spells to simulate a Hellhound but now i discovered that you can be a Kitsune champion and i'm moving my ass to become one
