New event perk idea(and a use for the psi-amp from Zaalt finally!)

IDEA: Take the broken psi-amp from Zaalt as any class to sabrae, she fixes it and any bugs/glitches it had then installs it, giving you a new perk(does not take up an implant slot).

NEW PERK:

(can be obtained by any class)

It's simple and useful (though perhaps not as useful as it first seems). Why Sabrae? You'd need an explanation why it's exempt from the 2 implant limit, I think.

Is there a more fitting NPC to give you this perk? I mean, Sabrae just makes the most logical sense in my head(seeing as she modifies bodies).

As for the explanation...how about because it's installed in the brain and not the lower muscles like the market implants?

There really isn't a 'perfect' NPC. I've been thinking Dr. Lessau. I know psionics is not his department, but
1. You're on Uveto at the end of the Ice Queen quest, making it a natural starting point.
2. He's the most likely to know how to get into contact with whatever department of SteeleTech does deal with this. (SteeleTech does produce a Staff, so it almost certainly does have a department for it.) Anno, too, I suppose. You can't be sure the player recruited her, though and she might not be working for SteeleTech anymore, depending.

Where do you think the Cybernetic Subprocessor is installed?
Or Sensory Dampener?

Dr. Lessau would be more convenient, considering you wouldn't have to go off planet for this perk.

Ok, what would you suggest for the reason this doesn't use up an implant slot?

As a kineticist, you would receive a brain implant to augment your latent telekinetic abilities, allowing you to rely almost completely upon your own willpower and intelligence.
Assuming you're insisting on it being an Implant that isn't an Implant, I'd piggy-back on this. Non-Kineticists get it installed like a Psi-Amp (because that's what it is), Kineticists get it integrated into their existing setup somehow.

I guess it's not too different from 'it's installed in the brain'. But it 'feels' different, since the exception is already there.
