I'm unable to participate because I'm pinching on every penny I get - when I can at least, I am a... fiend for books - so how about this: I'm making a thread to see how ya'll enjoy the newest update! Any gripes? Any favorite moments? I'd just love to hear you talk about it (And I don't particularly care about spoilers, the experience will be more than enough on my own (and I already bought the game on Steam - it's only a matter of time then (unless public drops first (I prefer the website))))!

Also there's a Fire Emblem-esque strategy mini game if you choose to attack the fortress with Calise and you can recruit from any not-demonic forces in the area to buff out your forces.

Also waiting on the public release (steam owner) but I got two questions if anyone willing to answer:

1. Is there different outcomes? I know there is two routes into the dungeon, along with the cultist strength being related to if you have done other dungeons, but do they (or choices you make during the dungeon) effect the ending?

2. Is there any differences if you were doing a corruption run of the game? Kind of building off of the last point, is there any choices if you want to do corruption?

If you go with the princess, you get a chance to exspose Kasyrra posing as the champion of Velun and can snitch on Prince Vrannus as a demon cultist.

Can we just stop with the Faceless Blade fights? Her fights are some of the worst because even with maxed out Agility, my party just struggles to hit her 80% of the time. In this (third!) fight, she also has lifesteal (don't think she had that in the previous fights?). I just had a fight against her go on for, I shit you not, probably 25-30 turns because I couldn't hit her to finish her, while she would heal a hundred or so HP in a single turn, meanwhile I was using attacks that restore HP, using healing items, and spamming Kiyoko shields to stay in the fight. I ended up losing. In the end, it was literally just a case of getting lucky enough for my attacks to actually land that made me win.

My issue with it (and I say this having not played the new content yet) is that the difficulty on dark is really inconsistent. 95% of fights are still an absolute cakewalk with a well built party and then you just get your shit kicked in by the other 5%. It doesn't make the game itself any harder, it just makes like 2 ish fights incredibly difficult

Yeah this is it really. I like a challenge and for the most part Dark provides a decent one, but every now and then it dips into the "stomp your nuts into the floor" territory. It's especially frustrating in instances of bosses with high evasion where its a case of just not being able to land a hit. Feels like your just rolling a dice and hoping the game actually lets you play.

underneath your floorboards
I'm not on the dev team, so I don't know, but I would assume so.
I know, i know, i just meant to say if they have any effect or if they (possibly) tease to anything else (beyond the coastlands) as of right now, in the current version of the game. Still haven't reached that part of the story mmyself, but i'm curious nevertheless

What sort of team comp were you using?

I've beaten it now, but I was using Ryn (Queenly Raiment) for healing, Kiyoko (Kanso), and Varena. I was a Warrior using the Songstress Blade, but was having to spend quite a few turns using healing items Ryn and Varena since they would take all the Threat; then when I did get a chance, most of my attacks would miss despite 24 Agility and two lucky strikes.

I got to say that this is Kasyrra at her absolute worse which is interesting since Kasyrra is once again motivated to take this action by her desire to be what she once was. Ironically this pushed her to do the very same thing that was inflicted on her.

The siege gameplay was really cool, but I think I'll do the Varena route since that allows you to both (mostly) preserve moral and inform the King. An interesting point in the siege is that you succeed by gathering up forces of everyone left behind while Tollus continually sacrifices his forces to buy time. Tollus may be in his endgame, but he is also on his last legs.

Real Calise was a huge twist. Interestingly, unlike most twists, it didn't really tell us anything new, but it did add context. She really is a tragic character with her demonic obsession being her failure.

Katya's brother encounter was just silly. The fact the game treats being a nerd as worse than a demon was funny.

None of the weapons particularly wowed me. Why haven't we gotten a new wand?

Also, Kiyoko does not mess around.

Because
I'm a moron and forgot to have Renia's unique wand tagged as droppable and never noticed in playtesting

Hope that helps :)

shit fuck god damn it
so, does that mean we can't get it if we already completed the siege?
