Missed out on Kitsune content?

So, after not touching the game for an age to let the updates build up, I recently jumped back into the game. My name belies no secret that I love kitsune, so hitting all that content is one of my first priorities. But I remember last time I played encountering a band of them in the Old Forest. But I'm 9-10 days in on the new playthrough and I haven't encountered them yet. Didn't think much of it until I came across some info on the wiki while letting myself follow a rabbit's hole series of links starting from something entirely unrelated. Did I seriously miss out on the kitsune encounter and ultimately the Kitsune Camp by accidentally defeating the Alraune too soon? : (

You need to be lvl2 for them to spawn and the alraune needs to be alive

So it got moved then? Wiki shows it as being in the southwest of the Old Forest, though I'm aware that it says that it's outdated (hence why I'm asking to be sure).

The main kitsune settlement is in the Frostwood, the part that's in the southwest of the Old Forest is just the temporary encampment that Hinata and co hang out in. You haven't locked yourself out of the bulk of the kitsune content, just the specific bits of it that can only trigger before the Alraune is dealt with. If you have a save from before you beat her, you can go back and check out that content. Assuming you didn't trigger the first encounter, help them out (which removes them from the random encounter table) and forget about doing so you might just have had a bad round of luck with the RNG, or you beelined for the Alraune before the kitsune had a chance to trigger.

Yeah, and at the moment you can't interact with Hinata and his posse after they return to the den anyway.

Adding onto that, encountering them first and helping them out also removes one fight from the kitsune quest given to you by Evergreen.
