I think it all depends on what people write. I think I have seen a few people working on male character submissions.
Dane? That genuinely surprised me! Fascinating, yeah, there's still alot of content for Uveto I imagine. Plus there's Pippa (saw a flag in the save editor for her), Emmy, and Penny's recruitment too; so Dane looks like it will still be awhile.

If Foxxling would not been burried under RL stuff we may have already (near) completed submission he writing as commision for bull at NT (ofc that bull can turn into herm but still it quite firm keeping it male parts so he closer to been seen as male than female). Can't recall any other potantial male crew members aside Makius (or similary named).
@Night Trap mentioned that a certain doggo was planned to be a follower in the distant future.

Zevos is correct, daddog will be recruitable in the future. I'm considering waiting for ship stuff to be implemented, because he's intended to add quite a bonus to your ship stats, as he's a marine officer with over a decade of experience.

Neato! Do you happen to know the current status on the ship combat system? I found by luck the side-game to TiTs where you play as Kara and her crew aboard the Silence and it was quite interesting. Shame that the enemy ship was too much and I assume its a scripted event.
Nevertheless I am quite eager for the ship combat when it eventually gets implemented.

Wow. Just finished speed reading your character Ciaran, your character cant come out soon enough. It was sensational in all the ways of the word's meaning. Fleshed out backstory, and exceptional sex scenes that is filled with passion, sensuality and romance. Bravo man; now I really can't wait to meet him.

Sorry, I don't really know. I do know that boarding actions are going to be a thing, which is what would be most relevant to a marine.

When you say marine, do you mean like a burly WH40K Spess Marine or like a skinny naval officer with a clean-shaven face and a starched-so-much-it's-essentially-cardboard suit?
Will it ever be possible to "clean out the backlog"? It seems like there's more submissions going in than submissions coming out.
And final questions: I'm assuming the recruiting event for Dane will hinge on whether he's no longer working for JJ, but I remember only one outcome where you get to see that Dane gets fired. Will we have to follow a certain path to unlock him? Will there be other chances later if y'all do end up going that route? Or is Dane fired regardless after the events of Myrellion?

From @Night Trap's description of Ciaran in the docu, considering he is a Treated Hellhound; then we are talking about a substantially stocky character (So yeah, somewhat a Spess Marine!). Its a good read worth checking out

I mean like Royal Marines combined with Reconnaissance Marines. He served 2 years in his home planet's self-defense force as a marine, then served 13 years in the Ausaril Royal Reconnaissance Marines. Then served 4 years as head of expeditionary forces on a Terran privateer vessel. And as @Endwar said, he's quite stocky. A bit less than most bulls his size would be since he's an ausar, but he's still just as obsessed with lifting heavy objects for fun as most Treated folks who aren't bimbos are.
I've never considered if he has power armor training though. I should find out if that's standard for marines. It'd make sense since they might encounter a hull breach during boarding actions.

Dane is fired regardless of what you do on Myrellion, he failed to protect his charge and got both of them captured, that's enough for any bodyguard to get the boot.

@Night Trap as the guy with the Guardsman giving the go-ahead, plz give Ciaran power armor training. I said it once and I'll say it again. Power Armors are awesome, and the future should have power armors! I mean anyone who completed the Kara Quest mission know that we had to deal with against Power Armored enemies; especially with their boss Amara Faell which was a kickass good challenge.

Wait...if we will eventually get Dane be our bodyguard; does that mean we wont need to go solo anymore and have a proper buddy system where an NPC fights alongside you that does not involve someon else's quest?

You're always gonna be exploring solo in the main world. I think the only exceptions are drones/varmint what will help you in battle.
