Now that they've been out for a while (and mostly bugfixed), what do we think of the Perks & Special Abilities? What's your favorite and least favorite? Is there any point to Second Striker?
Also, is it me, or do Desperation and Die Another Day have an anti-synergy? Die Another Day will probably heal you out of 50% range, so you have to get hit again to benefit. Which means you're out of Shields, at the least. You can't stay below 50% HP in subsequent combats, because you'll get 25% back until you're over.
Personally, my favorite is Sturm & Drang because it opens up some interesting synergies.
1. Attacks vs Stunned targets always hit, so a Stun melee weapon can negate the Accuracy penalty of the Ranged attacks.
2. .Crushing + 3-4 chances for Deep Freeze. Then detonate with your next S&D or Power Strike.
3. Vampiric Ranged. Seems to me you'd be almost immortal with 3-4 guaranteed Vampiric attacks. Then again, Stun by itself does that.
Least favorite is Perpetual Energy. This is what they think will solve the Tech Specialist's Energy problem?

The only use I can think of is Melee Mercenary for another Sturm & Drang Ranged attack.
Smuggler is too dependent on Sneak Attack/Aimed Shot to bother with the other.
Charge Weapon benefits from Specialized Combatant. Overcharge doesn't seem to. Or at least not noticeably, so I guess Ranged might?
