Level Cap

Has the level cap been raised from 6? If not, then when is it planned to be raised? I just go the Talsenne ability and it is level 7, higher than the level cap

Yes, but only for backers; it should go public soon, though. That said, level 7+ abilities have been in-game for much longer than that (mainly stealable from higher-level enemies), so take abilities of level higher than the current cap as more "future-proofing" than "new level available now/soon".

The update cycle and how the Steam version relates to it:

TLDR is that you only get access to the Backer updates if you're a monthly supporter; the Steam version is a one-time payment in exchange for auto-updates, cloud saving, Achievements and some Steam-specific goodies.
