It ain't perfect, but you can usually get a general feel for the size of a ship based on the forward obs. deck's window size. Figure a person's maybe half as tall as one of the vents on the side there.

Compare to Kiro's giant leaf over here. Big enough for a Casstech to park inside it.

I think I've always assumed Kiro's ship to be smaller than ours because it had only 7 squares to walk and it was basically empty.

Those squares are just what we are allowed to access in Kiro's ship. Not like we have access to her kitchen or engineering.
Also, from that picture the Casstech 14 it looks about the size of the Sidewinder from Elite Dangerous. Maybe a bit bigger. Possibly the Viper Mk4?

No. Hand So has nothing to do with the Sidewinder.

I have no idea if or when she will ever be further expanded upon.
So then we will get a new unknown crewmember to fly that ship if it is at all possible to fly it in the future.

I just thought if you have a capital ship how would you universially handle ship battles? What will you just jump into a small fighter that you have on hand or have you and your crew man the guns? And if you lose in a capital ship do you just go up like a bomb or get raped and captured by pirates in a bad end or lose your crew mates and get stranded In space?

I could see space battles handling the same mechanically but the ships get different stats. A small fighter will be a lot faster but also a lot weaker than a massive dreadnought, and I'm willing to bet there'll be intermediate ships (bomber-type ships, fregates, tanky transports) with different stats to them, that may or may not be modifiable to a degree.

I wouldn't even be surprised if there'd be made a difference between ships that can enter the atmosphere of a planet and land on their own (like the Normandy or SWTOR player ships) and ships that are so massive that it's a phsyical impossibility for them to touch down; essentially, eternally space-bound craftworlds/space arcologies.

For ships of a certain size upward, I'd argue the battle should have two phases: A space battle (which, if you win, that's the end of it) and a boarding battle (if you lose the space battle). Losing both in succession should, in my opinion, lead to a loss scene/bad end depending on the opponent, or in a punishment expressed in the abduction of a crew member which you'll have to rescue in time, like the final stage of Bess/Ben's personal quest.

4. Also if ships got stats then you can already see that they will fall into three catagories like the classes with a rogue ship a techie ship and a merc ship with merc being the best next to Techie. Then there will be oped ships that will fuck people over and cause them to use cheese strats dude.

I know. I'm not saying I want a player ship like that, but if they existed, they could easily become an area to explore all their own.

Being money sinks is kind of what I'd like these ships to be, for various reasons; the rest is just flavoring.

Ships will inevitably need stats, how else would you handle space combat? I'm also not advocating for ships that mesh with player classes. Rock/Paper/Scissor systems might work, but then again, Fen and friends likely have come up with something already.

To be completely honest with you every thing in the game is a money sink, the further you get into the game the more simple things become a money sink, unless your getting like a mod or something from a vending machine.

Ohhh man ship stats I can feel are gonna be either stupid or just oped and once they are even felt to be slightly op Fen is gonna knee jerk nerf the fuck out of it to make it "Even or evenly felt" tbh i don't see it feeling anywhere near how it's being described really, it's gonna probably just be like armor where you have ships with better shields ships with better armor or health and ships with better evasion, with the last getting the shit and of the stick

Bonus answer: I call everyone dude, and Imma be 100 I don't really care if ya a woman or not.

Bonus question: Don't warp gates get us as close to the planet as possible? Or if not in the same space as the planet we are going to?

Because this is sci-fi. Colossal ships like that aren't too rare in space stories. Either that, or you have things like Death Stars that also can't be brought planetside because they're too big.

I wasn't aware I was asking for anything. I just floated the idea because I believe it'd be nice to have a bit of a different flavor for new ships, not that I want it to happen, come what may. I'm fully aware they're having a lot to make work already as is.

That aside though: If we can somehow disable a walking mech without utterly destroying it, nothing's gonna stop us from simply disabling an enemy ship, regardless of ship type.

But enough of that! The mosquito space marine helmet is still good and I'm looking forward to seeing what the team actually conjures up when the time is ripe.

Throwing out an idea is almost the same as asking for it because if you said it and took time to explain it out in a way your asking for it.

Bud, it's a porn game with a combat system, if someone wrote it they would have you take on a whole capital ship from the ground and take it out on your own without any help or anything.

Thing is it's a porn game, and sadly they don't even let you get a power fantasy, unless you are over powered or cheating.

It might be a bit much, but will ships handle Crewmates separately?
Like a "You stay on ThisShip/ ThatShip/ WithMe" option.

It'd be nice to take the Casstech for a ride without having to kick half my crew out into the street.

Hi Long Time Lurker since like the start of CoC (Dang just realised how long that is), Big Fan of the All the universes here.

Just how far does the TiTs universes deviate from our Laws of Physics? Because if its a massive deviation then:

Massive Space Ships shaped like a Brick can land on planets thanks to a "Null-Gravity Drive" basically nullifying gravity's effect (Heavier Gravity would require More Power to the N-G Drive) or hang in the air like bricks shouldn't.

Ships can Ram other ships without bending super structures and micro fracturing every support structure in the ship, basically totalling themselves because a mathematical genius created a formula that lead to the creation of an "Integral Field Generator" that would redirect the impact energy to a sacrificial anode that would crack for the ship instead. this would also extend the ships life span because Manoeuvring Thrusters would cause micro-fractures and the ship would eventually fall to pieces. the bigger the Sacrificial Anode and Stronger the Field the better the Rammer irregardless of the size of the ship.

People walking around on-board like its earth normal gravity, thanks to a Grav-Plates; high tech but tiny Directional Gravity Generators in the plates that make up the decks of ships, sadly no matter how hard the corporations tried they couldn't turn it into a weapon with out it basically crushing itself and until new stronger material can be found it has only a limited range of 4 meters. the N-G Drive can fuck with this if the Decks are not properly insulated or isolated, this could lead to general loss of gravity or sudden high gravity in area's not protected.

all of that would mean is Shape doesn't matter, Size would, as usual, matter because Mass is a Big Ass Bitch that should never be ignored, because she will sneak up on you and smooch! you pancake! but if the Reactors of the ship were powerful enough and the N-G Drives good enough then you might be able to land a ship the size of an aircraft carrier with the ease of a butterfly.

Science fiction is an addiction also I didn't mean it to be this big
