On account of the realization of my originality blunder, I've decided to let @Aullama 's stuff run its course and see whether or not they make it into the game. If they do, I'll resign from this idea, if they don't, I'll try and get mine into the game. Currently working on another species and their stuff.

This idea has been lagging back in my list of to-do's for a while now, and I got bored waiting for the devs to at least give me a yes or no on ChiselMe. Even butt bugs have gotten boring to edit, but I still do every couple of days. So I've decided to do this one to occupy my time that I spend pondering what the fuck I'm going to do.

Basically it's a species of armored humanoid reptiles, their biology allows them to eat and digest metals and their blood type causes the metals they digest to be used to make themselves metallic armor that looks like the armor of knights of old. All in an organic fashion. This doc'll include a couple of combat encounters, their sexy times and their equipment drops. If this receives well and is submitted I'll add an npc(possibly crew member) and a transformative to be added along with them.

Here's the stuff I have so far, don't worry, It's not going to get nearly as over the top as butt bugs are. At least, not until that npc and tf gets in. Keep in mind that a lot may change depending on how this develops.

Suggestions are welcome, although I'm not going to bloat this like butt bugs so don't expect a lot of the content based ones to be taken to heart.

Why are they named "Equites" if they don't ride horses? (They are "armatae", though.) I'm kinda glad to know Latin still exists in TiTSverse.

Well the quickest translation I imagine most would be able to bring up is "armored cavalry", I have two other enemies for this in mind too, one a scout/assasin type and the other a mechanical dragon riding jouster repeatable boss type. Kinda forgot to add to the codex that most of their terrestrial vehicles are mechanical versions of riding animals. In their case their horses are more like mechanical versions of eight limbed riding lizards.

Decided to take @Kesil 's not really suggestion but kinda is and change the base species name to just "Armatae".

  • Since you're going for a medieval theme with Armatae, might i suggest "wizards" as support units? Physically inept Armatae could serve as the mechanics and engineers that keep their spacecraft going, but in combat they could use staff like shield projectors (and maybe elemental grenades) to protect their allies from the backlines.
  • You also didn't make any mention of their genitals in the codex entry, and perhaps redundant detail during reproduction.
  • Also, i'm kind of dissapointed that they don't have muzzles. Although keep in mind that this is surely an unpopular opinion, most people seem to greatly prefer humanlike flat faces. Although a half-muzzle would still be vary nice. For me. *sigh*
  • For their combat stats, maybe you should reduce the thermal resist to -10% (they are covered by heat conducting metal), but give them mirrored (-90% lazer damage). Since it probably takes years for them to build up their armoring, you could justify that as the reason PC dosn't get mirrored (or armor) from having Armatae scales of his/her own.
  • Do these female lizards have breasts?

The whole magic through technology thing does sound nice, maybe a variation to the triad unit could allow the female to be exchanged with one who has the augment gauntlets as well as something similar to what you mentioned.

Genital details soon to be added, wanted to get this out before bed and I likely forgot several things such as this.

Muzzles plus + razor sharp metallic reptilian teeth = bad for oral. Could be conceivable with how they are now to do the whole lips over teeth thing but I don't know how it's going to make sense with a muzzle, perhaps something similar to how this problem was settled with the sharks in Coc.

Good call on the resistances, although lasers produce heat too, no? Bah, shiny metal = reflective. The player will get the armor with the tf but it's not as thick, not as protective, and not that heavy in exchange for only a minor decrease in movement speed should should tits gets an underwater environment and a drop in electricity resistance. Consider it the tf's perk, with some minor cons.

Dammit! Forgotten details again. Yes, they have tits, laden with iron rich milk to feed the young until they develop their metallic teeth. It's the reason they don't have plates at the front, among other things. TiTS wouldn't be tits without tits, tits on the side and tits for dessert.

This sounds like it would give defense, and/or kinetic resist, plus a evade and/or electric resist penalty.

Will this hypothetical transformative be able to give PC royal Armatae scales? Possibly as an overdose, or Lessau enhancement effect.

Yep, right on all accounts.

The tf will have a set of metals and submetals that you'll be able to get, the main being the plates and the sub making the colour of your eyes, hair, claws and plate accents, kinda like how the vanae colouring works.

Don't know if I want to do it as overdose though, people will have to farm pretty fucking hard in order to get those gold and silver plates then.

I'm thinking... What if a royal armatae Steele tries to build his own Armatae empire, starting with the armatae triad.

That's some major harem building expansion content you're thinking about. And a credit farm with feudal taxes, why don't we just claim a planet while we're at it.

Set up a whole strategy style switch to the game mechanics, :p.

Could be done, I'll need help though, can't be expected to write up planet sized content by myself.

Do note that "armatae" is very similar to the existing "anatae". You may want to tweak it slightly, swapping the "-ae" with something else.

As for the TF granting natural armor: I suggest avoiding this and making it purely cosmetic, but having whatever encounters introduce the race include a means of acquiring wearable armor that's designed to complete the replication of their appearance. It will make getting it into the game considerably easier. If the armor has the same flags as the Omnisuit, it should be possible to have sex while wearing it, although I don't have much experience with using the Omnisuit so I cannot guarantee this. You'll have to ask Jacques or someone else familiar with the code.

Also, +1 for lizard faces. We don't actually have very many races with nonhuman facial features, so it would give yours a bit of extra spice. Include a means they have of temporarily dulling their fangs if that's an issue for you.

I was thinking more of like a good ending. Beat the mob as a royal Armatae, they might offer service... something something, you use them to claim your inheritance, then use your newfound wealth to setup an Armatae empire of your own. Except, you know, more galactically respectable. These knights know metals, they might have some talents Steele Tech could make use of.

That sim idea does sound really nice, but restricting it behind a rare variation of a unusual transformative is vary not nice.

Tho maybe if and when the Fate of Men'gha, royal Armatae Steele could send subjugated Armatae knights to serve as guards for Elsbeth.

Yup yup, we have two major lizard races but no nonhuman lizard faces yet. Also, perhaps their fangs could be retractable?

Good ending sounds considerably easier than doing all that. I'm sorta into it now.

Name is Latin for armored, I've gotten attached to it.

Would a perk that activates if tf'd enough work?

Suppose it couldn't be helped that humans like human faces.

The standing rule is that TF's can't give outright racial bonuses, as it would put pressure on players to play a character different from one they might have chosen otherwise, which lowers enjoyment of the game.

Cosmetic it is then, the shield ought to give enough of a defense boost to offset this loss of a feature. I doubt people's average steeles live long enough to warrant some proper thick protective plate growth.

I would go with a purely cosmetic version, plus a separate transformation req'ing the first granting +15% kinetic resist, -15% electric resist. With Fen's approval.

I'll see how it develops, I'll include something to make it possible in doc anyway just in case he agrees. Overdose sounds applicable here.

They would be sued for copyright infringement.

If this goes anywhere it would be nice if their name got modified, yes. If this goes anywhere - i.e. that doc starts containing stuff that could actually be used to make a functional mob in the game, rather than a particularly dry excerpt from a DnD rule book - then I'll probably ask you to change it. I can give you plenty of suggestions if you like.

Like I said, open to suggestions, just nothing too major. Btw, what did you mean by the copyright infringement?

The Anatae have their own empire.

If you like the latin angle, "Shielded" throws up Custodimini. Separated out into Custo Diminian, that sounds pretty cool.

There were of course many dinosaurs that had a claim to being armored, and you could base the name off one of them. Stegosaur, Ankylosaur and Pachycephalosaur are some of the most well known ones. There is no-one who doesn't like dinosaurs - even the people who reckon they didn't exist admit they're pretty cool to look at - so going down this route would create pleasing connotations.

Ah, I see. I'll make some changes once I get back to my pc.

I might just make up a weird amalgamation of all of them if I find a cool enough combo. Or just call them something relating to armor. Then again they could just be Lacerta, capped L makes it translate to "white" but lower L makes it "a lizard". Decisions, decisions...
