wtf is this shit? This isn't canon to her character, is it? Also did it lower my corruption somehow? I'm deeply confused by this scene.

That's well and good to say but remember the character we're talking about here and when you encounter and interact with them. I can't imagine a similar justification if there was some sequence showing Cait acting wildly out of character that played as soon as you entered the Frost Hound.

Its a dream sequence.

The fucking keyword is "dream".

You visiting Kiyoko normally isn't you dreaming, its entering another plane of existence through sleep, but not through dreams. There's a massive difference.

It even says after you awaken that you’re glad Kiyoko isn’t actually this possessive.

And to beat the dead horse again: Since when do dreams ever make sense? Because I sure as heck wish my actual ones did.

Honestly, I’m actually not sure if I want to know what my subconscious is trying to tell me by having me eat salad in my attic, except that it’s not salad, just a bowl of sliced squash.

My point is that there's nothing indicating it's a dream sequence until the very end and even then it's still not exactly crystal clear that this ISN'T something that's 'actually' happened or not until you click through and Kiyoko acts perfectly normal afterwards. It'd be one thing if this dream only happened after she was freed from the amulet, as it stands for a few minutes I was boggling if some new jealousy mechanic had been added for her.

It's confusing.

whatever, I'm not going to convince you of anything, clearly.

I think the fact you didn’t land somewhere on the plane first and are just thrown in on Kiyoko in itself makes it clear it’s a dream. :1

Literally all instances of entering then Astral Plane actually has you land outside first and you only meet Kiyoko after wandering a bit (I’m including the intro sequences for her; the first time has you looking around before stumbling onto her house and the next has you wander over to the hot springs. Everything after you only meet her after manually approaching the cabin and knocking; any non-Kinu event that procs only procs at her door).

And I fail to understand why you’re complaining about a character being OOC in nightmare she’s intentionally written OOC. If my explanation doesn’t clear things up for you on why things are clear, I have nothing else to say.
