Kinu stood warily in front of the Frost Hound. She trembled as she opened up the door to enter the bar. It was her first time entering a non-Kitsune settlement that was not her father's castle, but something from her father's blood urged her to break the kitsune mold. It took a lot of cajoling with her mother, and she suspected she only succeeded due to her father bribing her mother with another child. Still, this is something she wanted to do without her father's interference.
As she stepped into the bar, she noticed a table filled with people of various species. She walked over to them.
"Hello, my name is Kinu. You must be my father's companions."
The female catfolk that must be the one named Cait spoke up first, "The Champion's daughter? Since when did the Champion have a teenage daughter? I mean it's only been about a month since I met them and they didn't have any children back then."
Kinu twiddled her fingers, "Well, you see, I was raised in a realm under Keros-"
"Ahhh," The table interrupted, apparently already satisfied with the answer.
"Now it makes perfect sense," Cait nodded her head. Cait quickly clasped Kinu's hands and dragged her to the table. "It's good to see you, Kinu. Let me introduce you to everyone. There's Brienne."
An imposing yet somehow soft and cuddly minotaur rose to greet her, "You are just the cutest." The cowgirl hugged Kinu and smothered her between her breasts. Kinu eventually extricated herself from the all-encompassing hug.
Cait sidled up to Kinu and whispered, "Watch out for her. She is planning on marrying the champion soon and she mentioned 'adopting' you. Anyway, her is Agnimitra, or as she prefers to be called, Agni."
A young harpy with more grace and dignity for someone of her age gave a graceful bow as if she was preforming on stage, "The pleasure is all mine."
"Speaking of pleasure, I got something that is guaranteed pleasure."
Cait smacked the orc, "Time and place Arona."
Arona rubbed the ineffectual slap, "What, everyone is thinking about it. All the kitsunes I seen during raids were thin little waifs. It's clear that she got her proportions from the Champion's side of the family."
"Wait," A male Taeleer interjected, "I was going to slap her because she said it first."
Cait pinched her brow, "These are our resident horndogs, Arona," and with particularly icy venom Cait hissed the next name, "Quintillus."
"Can we not for today, Cait," Quin shook his head.
"Moving on, here is Viviane, our resident witch."
Viviane smiled with a mysterious look, "Kitsunes are notoriously isolationist, yet this one seeks us out on her own. Curious."
"Eep," Kinu leap.
Cait rolled her eyes, "Ignore her. She plays more mysterious than she actually is. And finally, our very own Queen Etheryn."
A frost elf sputtered some objection, but for what Kinu couldn't tell.
Etheryn curtseyed, "It is good to see a royal of the kitsune line."
The companions all looked shocked, "Royal?!"
Etheryn looked askance, "Yes, she is the daughter of Kiyoko, the previously lost ruler of the Frostwood Kitsunes. The legend of Kiyoko being lost during the Godswar has been known to Winter City since my grandmother's time. Did no one do their research?"
