It's been a while, and TITS is quite a different beast to CoC...

I won't ask if anyone remembers me from FutanariPlanet ... It doesn't really matter either way.
Point is I've been in lurk-mode for a few years now... partly in shame since I'd started making my own game back in the "unnamed text adventure" days and ended up losing it all to computer hardware failure... then retiring in shame at my failure...

For those who don't know or don't remember me... I go by the ironic title "Magnanimous" ... and I like centaurs and glasses... and centaurs with glasses...

Anyway... enough about me.

I've given TITS a good old try lately, having given it enough time to build up a decent chunk of content... It is certainly fancy-looking compared to Corruption of Champions... but it reached the point where I couldn't really stay quiet about a few things that had been bugging me about it. That is to say some things which are new to this game and others which are... well... things I expected more attention to have been given to in the meanwhile.

#1. Where is the breeding? ... Straightforward enough question, right? While I kinda understand that various alien species would be biologically incompatible when it comes to actually forming offspring, I guess CoC had set somewhat of a standard when it comes to different species successfully knocking each other up that I'm frankly surprised at how few opportunities there are for it in TITS... and most of what there is... involves ovipositors and just being an incubator for eggs... which... y'know... not exactly satisfying in terms of direct biological imperative. So far as I'm aware, I could could count the number of things that could impregnate Steele (properly) on one hand... and much the same for vice versa... and that brings me to the second point...

#2. Whose is the Insect fetish? ... Myrellion mostly, but also Zil on Mhenga and those rust-thingies on Tarkus. I guess if we're going for real-life ecological realism in a new context it makes sense that there would be so many insects... but... I'm still a bit weirded out at the disproportionate representation of humanoid insects in a sexual fantasy game. They also seem to be hogging most of the breeding opportunities... so... there is that.

#3. Is all content doomed to be unidirectional in reference? ... This is a big one. CoC had it to some extent, but that was far less... crowdsourced than TITS seems to be. And what is becoming incredibly apparent is that while new content is being added frequently, old content isn't being updated much to account for it. A slew of characters either exist in a vacuum or exclusively make passing references or have brief scenes with characters who came before them... but with little being added to go the other way. In other words it results in a world where newer characters are forever doomed to go unnoticed by sempai... and older characters act like they're all but alone and stuck in a repetitive rut of the low-content early days... Would it kill people to slow down adding new characters to make more interaction between existing ones?

#4. Was TITS made with a male Steele in mind? ... I play females or herms. Usually herms, but sometimes pure female. It is a thing I do. I don't do males because they seem utterly unnecessary. BUT because of that I've noticed some rather odd things: There are LOADS of scenes that require a penis, and almost none that require a vagina... and most scenes involving being penetrated go immediately for anal without even asking. When I'm playing a character with a perfectly good vadge and yet NPCs keep going for the butt... well... one starts to wonder what exactly is wrong with this vagina that nobody wants to use it? And it kinda occurred to me that they were probably written that way because "hey, everyone has a butt". Not cool, guys. Not cool.

And finally... for now...

#5. Who do I gotta throw money at to get the Dryad from Mhenga as an adoptable waifu? ... In accordance with my personal tastes, the Dryad on Mhenga is the best character in the game by a few orders of magnitude, yet she has barely any content and doesn't even have a proper name. Yet my main Steele practically lives in the Mhenga jungle because it is the only place she can get reliable centaur P-in-V sex in either direction. I barely pay attention to two-legger characters anyway besides Penny... who can't even use her horse-dick on a horse-cunt, so what is even the point in her having it?
BUT I've totally digressed here. Dryad is love. Dryad is life. I would be exceedingly irresponsible with my savings if it meant getting the Dryad as an on-board centaur waifu, putting glasses on her, drugging her with fertility / virility chems and filling the nursery with taur-babbies.

Anyway.... yeah... Hello to folk I might have used to know or might have once known me.

I think I can kinda answer some of these questions, but I am fairly new here, and to TiTS myself, so bare that in mind. I was/am more of a CoC guy, and really just lurked over in those forums until a week or two ago.

I think parts of 1 and 2 go hand in hand, in that 'insects and ovipositors' just seem more sci-fi. Cause this is a sexual 'sci-fi' game, not fantasy like you said. But I think you might have hit the nail on the head when it comes to the 'biological incompatibility' and 'ecological realism' explanations.

I think 3 is a little bit easier to answer: All the older characters are either thought of as 'completed' or their authors are no longer around/interested in writing for them. Therefor, many of them cannot be upgraded with new content as the game progresses.

Number 4 may be easy to answer as well. The game may not be intentionally created with a male Steele in mind, but the writers are mostly male, and so write from the perspective that they know, a male perspective. As for the anal stuff, we do have a resident Analmancer, so there is that.

As for question 5, I don't know who wrote the Dryad from Mhenga. You would have to talk with them about expanding on the character. They would be the person that you potentially throw money at, or if you get their permission, be able to write and add on to that character.

1. Gotta look harder, mah bro. Use the TITS wiki, even if it's a few months out of date. For more reference: Get on Seras good side in Tavros, go to Uveto and lose to the frosty cat men a bunch of times.
2. Couldn't tell ya but they're easy to ignore either way if ya don't like 'em.
3. Do writers re-do their novels after they're published? It's that sort of situation. Sure, you can say it's significantly less ridiculous to try on a digital game but it's still a lot of work and ya gotta deal with editing stuff that was written by people who aren't here anymore, etc etc.
4. I've found the opposite, actually, but I can't speak for anybody else.
5. No clue but Wsan wrote it and I haven't seen much else from them uploaded to the game in a whiiiiile.

Also, holy ellipses batman.

#1. Where is the breeding?

Pregnancy content is a pain to write.

Some characters have pregnancy content planned. Lots of writers are fans of eggnancies, which are a bit easier to write, in some cases. Not to mention the game is still in progress. If you want more, you're welcome to write some.

#2. Whose is the Insect fetish?

Bug girls are great and cute, so I dunno what you're talking about, maaaaaaan. Again, if you want more non-insect charatcers (Which we have quite a whole damn lot of), you're welcome to write some.

#3. Is all content doomed to be unidirectional in reference?

Not every character needs a grand questline or backstory, sometimes its good to have some characters there for world-building, or just for some fetish-catering. Many characters that exist now, and that are being written, have quests and such planned for them, but again, not every character needs such a thing.

#4. Was TITS made with a male Steele in mind?

Writers write what they like, and many writers happen to enjoy the PC's penis going into other characters, while many others enjoy dicks going into butts. Some characters, like Syri, have a given preference for butts, because they like them, and I mean, who doesn't? Sometimes writers just write anal because they like it, and because its easier to do that, mainly because writing ass/vag variants is one of the least fun things to do. Once more, if you want more vagina-inclusive scenes, you can write more or pay someone to write them, but if you plan on writing you're gonna need to ditch those ellipsis.

#5. Who do I gotta throw money at to get the Dryad from Mhenga as an adoptable waifu?

That would be Wsan, taur master of this game.

Sucks that you don't pay attention to the two-legged characters, because they're pretty damn good, and if you, yourself, are playing a taur: don't expect much in the way of sex content. Writing for exotic body-types is a bitch, and most people don't bother.

That's not true at all. Fen has specifically designed the way TiTS handles creative rights to avoid characters being abandoned, and then untouchable because the original writer controls what can be done with that character. If a creator is no longer around, or just isn't interested anymore, anyone can write for them. If the writer is still around, Fen defers to their opinion on the writing, unless they are being completely unreasonable, and if they aren't around, the final judgement is solely up to Fen.

Technically others can write for characters that have been abandoned by their authors but in practice not much has come of that because apparently writing for characters that aren't your own creations is very challenging. There have already be a few attempts at writing expansions for some of Jim Thermic's roster of orphaned characters and each time it seems like the world be authors have ended up burning our and disappearing from the forum. So yeah legally you can get the go ahead from fen but realistically you shouldn't get you hopes to high about somebody actually being able to step up to the challenge of doing it.

So the situation is less that people can't write for old characters as much as everyone wanting to write their own little bug and/or puppysloot - and -that- leads to almost all of them feeling like they're locked in their own little bubble.

It's definitely an issue.

Though I think the lack of good vag content is simply that literally everybody opts to write a waifu and very few are confident doing girls' love type stuff. There's some (and most every "ride 'em" victory option is vag-only) but definitely far less than the butt and dick stuff.

Jesus Christ. I had no idea you could even get multiple wombs in this fuckin' game.
Up to a maximum of three. You have to be careful with Sera's children's' birthing currently, if two of them are close together, the second one won't happen and you will be permenintly pregnant with children that don't exist. This can be avoided by staying at the nursery for the birth.

Words about expanding other peoples characters

This also comes with a caveat; you can write it, but it won't go in unless it is deemed to come sufficiently close to the existing written style of the character.

It's good to see that my thoughts on what people seem to want from preg content is more or less exactly born out by this paragraph.

Anyways, if you aren't willing to include eggings and impregnating others, there's Renvra, sydians, QOTD, venus pitchers and cockvines as well as Sera. But yeah, broadly you're right. TiTS isn't as fixated on breeding as CoC was. I'll let you read the other thread to fathom for yourself why that is. Tldr version: No Quiet Browser and Lukadoc.

#2. Whose is the Insect fetish?

This is definitely a thing, isn't it? Honestly I don't think anyone has an overpowering bug-fucking fetish per se. I suppose it comes from the fact insects make for perfect, easy-to-create aliens, and insect girls are really neat, feasibly hitting a lot of fetish buttons at once (femdom, latex, oviposition, honey, bondage, the list goes on.) I don't see it as a problem.

#3. Is all content doomed to be unidirectional in reference?

This is rose-tinted glasses in effect, pure and simple. CoC was horrible for this kind of thing. Go back and seriously consider how many pointless NPCs completely unattached to the world around them, spun out in two weeks and then left to rot, there are. How unsupportive that world is to anything that is currently out of earshot. TiTS certainly ain't perfect in this regard, but it's a hell of a lot better.

#4. Was TITS made with a male Steele in mind?

Haha fuck no. It was made with a feminine herm Steele in mind.

#5. Who do I gotta throw money at to get the Dryad from Mhenga as an adoptable waifu?

Wsan's all-fetish-no-character one shot that he used to feel his way into making content? Really? Go find Hayley on NT. She's the exact same thing only better. I'd love to see someone pay more content for her.

Addendum: Ellipses are not a fucking substitute for every other form of punctuation, and using them like that makes you look like you have a serious speech impediment.

Well.... that is a bother.
Isn't there any sort of disclaimer in the content submission process to say that editing to existing content may be necessary at a later date? Some sort of clause whereby more content can be connected to the existing stuff without explicitly hunting down permission? If not, there should be...

1. Gotta look harder, mah bro. Use the TITS wiki, even if it's a few months out of date. For more reference: Get on Seras good side in Tavros, go to Uveto and lose to the frosty cat men a bunch of times.
I kinda did check the wiki. That was what informed me I wasn't just missing it all... but that it wasn't actually there. =/

Oh and the dots are because I type like I talk, so dots go wherever I hesitated in thought or the like.

Oh, I can understand that.
I considered submissions a long time in the past. For CoC actually. But the process was so complicated it just put me off. I actually found it easier to start making my own game back then than to submit anything to Fen's ... but that went down the crapper with the computer that held the data. My fault for not backing it all up, I guess. Hard for someone like me to find the motivation to continue after that.

Oh okay. That is good...

Oh... that is not so good.
But then isn't the challenge just a psychological one because one is considering the opinion / standing / permissions of the original author?

This also comes with a caveat; you can write it, but it won't go in unless it is deemed to come sufficiently close to the existing written style of the character.
... Oh. Yeah, that would be VERY offputting. Damn. My writing style is... kinda unique.

Ah! So I am not the only one who has found purpose in filling the universe with Sera spawn.

Must...Make.... Babies with Sera.....
I can't remember. Is she the two-legger that tries to boss you around if you have sex with her a few times, then just gets bossier and nastier until I basically wanted to cut her head off?
I remember that demon chick having the most detailed pregnancy content... but she was a slag, and the only appropriate route for her was enslaving her... and even that doesn't feel good because I hate enslaving folk... Was hoping for something closer to the hate-fuck with the Gabilani two-legger.

Anyways, if you aren't willing to include eggings and impregnating others, there's Renvra, sydians, QOTD, venus pitchers and cockvines as well as Sera. But yeah, broadly you're right. Bugs, Bugs, tentacle plants, tentacle plants... and the demon bint.
Well... and female Raskvel, but that ain't great for female Steeles...

Ugh... sweaty plastic, suppression, imbalanced relationship dynamics, parasitism.... It is a shame when other folks turn-ons are my turn-offs...

CoC has less content. Fact. Thus less situations where it probably should have interacted but quite plainly didn't. But there are still more interaction scenes between the base-folk than TiTS has.

Haha fuck no. It was made with a feminine herm Steele in mind.
Then why does the anal content outnumber the cunt content?

Addendum: Ellipses are not a fucking substitute for every other form of punctuation, and using them like that makes you look like you have a serious speech impediment.
What it looks like to you is of no concern of mine, and your objection to it just makes you look petty. Nobody in decades has been able to convince me to stop writing out my pauses, and you won't be the first. Give it up.

It is a shame when other folks turn-ons are my turn-offs...
I personally loathe it when x race I like is invariably tied to y kinks because of potato stereotypes. So it's all about waiting for charity, trying to write something or look for what you're interested in elsewhere, even if chances are I'll be out of luck.

CoC took place in a land where you could get everywhere by walking. TiTS takes place on multiple planets, moons, and space stations. For most characters, there's no reason for them to know each other, because they're nowhere near each other and never would interact. Some of them know each other from being online, like when Flahne shows up at Kiro's orgy, and some have heard of others, like when Dr. Badger sends you to zap Penny, but it's not like this is some small town where everyone's close by. Space is fucking huge.

As for everything else, you want it, you write it. I did. Making a long post about how the game's not what you want it to be won't change a thing.

This... shitty thread... was... worth it... for... this image... even if... I had to wade... through an ocean... of ellipses...

Seriously though, if I can throw my hat in the ring, the term "bug girls" triggers the shit out of me as someone with a fairly in-depth knowledge of zoology. There's a much greater difference between an ant and a spider than there is between a raccoon and a dog, yet nobody says "we have too many Carnivora girls" when a kui-tan is added to the game.

1: I was thinking that at first too, but IMO they kinda over-did the breeding in CoC. Everything wanted kids with the champion to the point where a baby-legion sub-plot would almost certainly have shown up at some point if not for the coding problems. I'm actually kind of glad that TiTs leaned toward realistic gestation periods and characterisation instead of harem-building and IMO, game developers and writers alike should always seek new ways to appeal to their audience in order to avoid stagnation.

2: Leave muh Nehzy alone!
Yea, it's mainly just on Myrellion. The furries still outnumber buggies by a significant margin though, leaving scalies, birdies, and plants (flories?) terribly under-represented. That's the real crime here.

3. It is a bit crowded, I agree. At the same time though, I think the variety has its own appeal. Within reason, everyone's fetish is represented and I'm confident that the truly dedicated writers will have produced character arcs that are many times the size of Urta's and Helia's arcs by the time the game is fully complete.

4. I agree. While TiTs is not a total clam fest, there does seem to be a slight deficiency in opportunities to have my character plowed senseless.

5. Good luck with that.
