Is there any use for the broken psionic amp that can be had from Zaalt and Kara on Uveto?

Not yet, though if and when psionics are implemented, I imagine there'll be an option to have it fixed, turning it into a usable psi-amp (probably a unique one).

I expect that was the idea. I've heard Uveto was supposed to be the introduction to Psionics, but that didn't really go anywhere. I've also heard they never really had a firm idea of how Psionics was going to work. Whether it would be a base Class or something you'd acquire later, possibly with some kind of parasite/symbiote.

A potential problem with Psi-amps I foresee is it taking up the Accessory slot. Other classes don't have a required Accessory. The closest is Drone Techs and maybe Melee Techs and Smugglers (Light Jetpack), though you can get around that with Wings.

That's the AI cores you're thinking of, which are mutually exclusive with the broken psi-amp.
