I'm working on porting TiTS to Starfinder's ruleset. I am currently working on Species. Starfinder has a stock Android race, but given what we see of androids in TiTS, I don't think it would fell right if you simply used the lore and rules ment to work with that lore. All I can find on the TiTS wiki is the page on AI which only describes the types of AI which exist, and an implication that all android characters including Yoma are VIs.
This doesn't seem to align with the wiki entry which states that VIs are limited to their programing and lack the ability to have an initiative to do things on their own. Yet Yoma is able to go "hey I want to go to the bar and see if I can get Steele to go on a date with me." Either Yoma is absurdly complex in programming (possible given customization) or there's just no hard and fast rules for androids.
Is anyone aware of any official lore on androids and other synthetic persons?
