Is there a way to get Kiyoko after defeating the Alarune?

I recently started playing this game again after a long, long break. I've been trying to get Kiyoko, but supposedly you have to help the Forest Kitsune in the Old Forest before defeating the Alarune, and unfortunately I've already beaten the boss (oops). I can't for the life of me remember what I did with the Kitsune before (I must have played over a year ago), but is there any other way to get Kiyoko? Thank you!

While those particular kitsune do disappear after defeating the Alraune, their content is mostly unrelated to Kiyoko's; the only difference it makes is that helping them changes their interactions when you meet them later in the Kurokawa Kitsune Den dungeon. You need to complete the Den before you can free Kiyoko from the Astral Plane, and helping them allows you to avoid fighting them if you also have the Amulet of Transference/Union on you, but avoiding the fight has no effect on freeing her.

Actually getting Kiyoko only requires exploring the ruins in the south-east of the Old Forest, which can be done at any time if you haven't done so already. Make sure to neither get disgusted by the orgy mural nor throw away the amulet, since doing either of those will lock you out of Kiyoko's content permanently. And until magicocks are implemented, you'll need a cock to progress her storyline.

Ah, alright. I chose not to side with Keros in the ruins because it sounded dangerous at the time, but it looks like that was a mistake. I guess that's what you miss if you don't follow a guide. Thanks anyway!

The only downside to siding with Keros was that you couldn't subsequently side with Taoth. Now that that option is off the table, there's no point in not siding with Keros, unless you want to avoid that side-story altogether.

We've been meaning to remove that warning and option altogether for some time now, the coders just need to get around to it.

That's a little unfortunate, but it makes sense given that I played a long time ago. Is there any chance you could eventually add the option to follow Keros after initially not following him (like I did)? Thanks again to you both.

Originally, it was possible to side with Keros regardless of if you have Kiyoko or not, though things would pan out differently if you did have her. You don't need to have ever met Kiyoko to go to the Kurokawa Kitsune Den (it's a quest given by Lady Evergreen), so I assume that's still the case. If it weren't, that would mean the kitsune TF and the entire Keros-Taoth conflict are gated behind Kiyoko, who is ultimately optional and isn't strictly necessary for that content to make sense.
