As the title says is there a time limit to claim the probes? say after landing on Mhen'ga for the first time I go goofing around for a few days before claiming the probe can my cousin claim it first? also is there any other time limited events? (not the seasonal stuff, although info about them would be nice too) last thing I wanted to ask is can I change my class through the game? I picked smuggler but I want to change it to merc instead. thanks

The probes aren't time limited, your cousin will (or will not) get there first as the plot demands. There's a handful of quests that have a time limit but the game is upfront about that timer starting (most of the time). Nope, once you pick a class you're locked to it, you'll need to make a new character for a new class.

The Probes will wait for you.
Distress Calls can be safely turned down at the generic 'you receive a call, what do you do' screen. Once you know who it is, backing out locks the encounter.

Seasonal events. List may not be complete. They can be manually turned on and off via the Cheat Menu as well.

No in-game way to change Class. If you're on Mhen'ga, it shouldn't take too long to get back to where you were.

I just got the second probe on Tarkus so that's fun
It occurs to me Smuggler is a class that takes some time to get going, since it's primary defense is Evasion. You get +50% Evasion from equipment, but Evasion values are fairly low until the midgame. They end up pretty strong. I have a Ranged Smuggler with the highest aggregate defenses of any of my characters, while doing huge amounts of damage.

Did you take Sneak Attack or Aimed Shot? Flash Grenade is based on Aim, so if you took Sneak Attack and have been neglecting Aim, it may not be as reliable as you want. Picking up a Lightning Rod might help, in that case.
If you went Ranged, the Shock Bow is really good.
And Disarming Shot is terrible (the enemy AI doesn't bother to account for it a lot of the time). Stealth Field Generator is much better.
If you're having a problem with Energy management, you can buy Power Potions.

Okay so that’s where I went wrong. I picked sneak attack and went for a Melee build. Either way I’m probably gonna have to start a new game unless I wanna use cheats which I don’t, I’ll use exploits but not outright cheats.

Low Blow is supposed to help with that, but it only works on certain kinds of targets.

Melee has a better selection of Stun Chance weapons, which are very powerful for Smugglers, because it gives you a chance to inflict Stun for two rounds, which enables Sneak Attack. You do have to be doing HP/Lust damage, though, so you have to burn through any Shields/Armor the enemy has to take advantage of it.

I haven't really tried it, but Light Savicite Maul seems like it could be fun, once you advance in the game. It does Psionic Lust damage in addition to Kinetic, which can trigger the Stun through Shields/Armor.

Is Stat Training a cheat? You should be able to get a membership at the New Texas Gym fairly early (you get the invite E-mail on day 2). Flash Grenade is weighted toward the player, so you don't actually have to keep Aim maxed.

Oh no I wrote that before I saw your reply. Also I am probably gonna start a new game since I’ve been skipping through a lot without reading much.

Based on my whatever you would call it, no it's an exploit so It's good in my books. and the message I deleted I didn't mean to send it

Personally, I don't think it's even an exploit.

To me, an exploit is taking advantage of unintended interactions or glitches.

To my knowledge, they don't balance around all max stats, but I don't see how the New Texas Gym could be considered 'unintended'.

I don't think Syri is an exploit, either, to be honest.

Intelligence is a weird stat to raise, compared to the others. Most of the ways to increase it are very slow, like once/day. But Syri has no cooldown whatsoever.
The other stats can be trained several times before resting.

Since there's no in-game time limit for the Probes, the only real difference is the IRL time spent.
