In Fire emblem Fates you have a Kitsune character that can have a baby kitsune whos name is Kinu. So is the writer a fire emblem fan or is this just a coincidense?

Kinu's name is a reference to Selkie's Japanese name, yes. Her content, however, was more inspired by the Princess Maker series of games.

I think thats the only similarity. Velouria was exceedingly somber and introverted. Gywn seems at least a little more sociable.
