Ideas for optimizing my Black Mage and Warrior characters.

After, omg how many years? of not playing CoC2, I decided to start again with two characters vaguely inspired on two of my ESO mains. Roughly translated into CoC2, they're a Leothran Black Mage and a Pexighast Warrior (who also deals holy damage)

1733906228227.jpeg 1733906251446.jpeg

First one is a Black Mage, stats invested are + 6 Willpower, + 6 Cunning, + 3 Presence, + 3 Agility

Powers are Equanimity - Power Wave - Shatter - Dawnbreak - Banishment

Gear he's wearing is currently this:

Second one is a Warrior with a Charge weapon, and + 6 Strength + 3 Toughness + 3 Agility + 6 Cunning

Powers are Charge Weapon - Thriple Threat - Cleave - Flames Within - Unbreakable

Gear setup is this one:

So, I'm looking for way to optimize the builds, both stat and gear wise. Also for what would be the best companion, since I'm breaking down them to this roles, since I aim my characters being the main DPS source.

Cait - Healer.
Brint - Tank
Arona - Tank
Quinn - Auxiliar DPS/Buffs?
Viv - Auxiliar DPS?
Agni - Healer/Buffs
Atugia - Auxiliar DPS/Buffs?
Azyrran - Tank

Not interested in Kiyoko/the whole Kitsune things overall so gonna skip them altogether, save by the missions in order to get the Christantemum thing. That said, for personal flavor, I prefer male and futa companions over female ones. So, if I have to pick between, say Azzyran and Brint, brint would win. Or Agni, between her and Cait.

Any build to look at will also be helpful, and input regarding what gear should I put on each companion to fit better the roles shown above. That said, pls give Agni more companions sets :'v.

Ah and finally, some custom made portraits I made for my characters.

First one is a crop of a fanart I got of my tiger character in Morrowind (yeah, he's the same character despite the 1020 year gap), and the second one is an Argonian random picture that i found and just added CK2 styled Mesoamerican armor (I spent 4 hours painting and editing the armor to fit the model character in GIMP, only to fing out that it was out of the frame borders once I loaded it in-game).

All things said, it's good to be playing this game again.

Can you more clarify what kind of build you're aiming for? CC? single target? spellsword?

one of my builds use a bow (currently meteor bow) with powers as crackle powder, addling beam/celestial smite, thunderclap and an at-will of either charge weapon or heal

Both aim to be damage dealers focusing on CC, perhaps swapping skills to specific bosses but overall built to deal with annoying mobs of bulky foes.

First one is a black mage, so spells based

Second one is a warrior with fire + mare's ring, melee based.

For BLM I would rec the same powers but replace addling beam with leaping bolts and thunderclap with roaring storm. Charge weapon can be kept, otherwise can replace with firebolt or psychic blast.

Recommended equipment are control rod+bull totem with any ranged wep to use crackling powder
Reagent pouch from khor'minos mage shop
crown of winter or titanic hat
Khorminos bar has katya, who sends you on a quest that can give you Geomancer's Bracers
Weedwalkers
The White Blossom

warrior is fine although i would change conqueror's breastplate for dragonscale, tiran paladin chest or giant's breastplate (although it has that obnoxious effect)
alternatively, you can get regal kimono(pregnancylocked) for 20% buff to fire damage and have agni or vivi in party

weapons like eastern greatblade are also better for cleave imo. You won't be able to use triple threat unless your ok with the tedious inventory swapping, but you can replace it with holy shock or steady strike

Agni and healerRyn are best supports if you just want damage buffs and to not die from aggro
dancerCait can half enemies damage reduction while also having the ability to heal and bless yourself
ArenaBrint, WarriorqueenRyn and stormAtugia are best at reducing or keeping aggro off you imo

For the warrior, I use a Wings of Asira + Dawnbreaker combo to avoid being disarmed, and also works with the ranged perk to cast Triple Threat. Dunno how much it affects cleave tho. I will give the Eastern Greatblade a try, anyways, tho.

Not sure about Control Rod, since I'm not touching the Kitsunes content much. At least not the follower kitsune. I think that crosses the Control Rod and the Regal Kimono out of the option. Though I may get a Kitsune Kit only for the kimono. Isn't the Panoply of the Holy City a viable alternative?

it's fine, just offers less than giant unless you care about the evasion penalty
Control Rod is gained from going to kiyoko's house and bothering Kinu, it's really not much interaction with them beyond dialogue, proccing the quest and completing it
But you can replace it with metal rod and bull totem if your not interested

worse than the alternative but i'm min-maxing. It's better than most other mage weps
This is the updated set for the Warrior guy

1734102490794.png

Also updates his powers. Tried with the Eastern Greatblade and did notoriously less damage than with the Wing of Asira + Dawnbreaker combo.

One thing to note is that this Warrior is less of a tank and more of a bulky Damage Dealer, than anything else.
