I have a question about ausar physiology.

Specifically about their paws/feet. Do ausar wear shoes or foot covering? Or do they walk around barefoot?

I ask because for my main, a full ausar Steele, I often see the description of rising back to my paws (or something like that) and I was feeling that it was implying that my feet are exposed. Could it just be that I've been wearing gemstone links and that they expose my feet?

My other question about ausar feet is what exactly do they look like. From the appearance tab, I know that my Steele has plantigrade legs. Does this mean that ausar feet are human in shape but just furred and tipped with dog claws/nails? What about pads? Do ausar have pads on their feet and hands?

Side question about the gemstone links. What do they look like? Are they basically a bunch of string of reflectory gems strung down from a single collar or something?

Getting to one's feet is a thing you say even if you're wearing shoes or whatever. Same goes for paws.

Hooves are probably another story though, as you can't really put real shoes on hooves.

That's a fair point. Though, I still can't remember off the top of my head and descriptors for shoes on ausar or even kaithrit. (I imagine that they must have similar styled feet.)

Ausar have human feet with dog-like beans pads but human shaped, same with hands if I'm not mistaken though not too sure there.

I kinda figured that everything that has ankles theoretical can wear shoes.
The Ausar will propably wear also shoes or boots like regular persons, but indoors or where one would wear houseshoos they would probably stay barfoot.
All the Taurs do not seem to care about pants (understandably) and since their hooves are hard and not realy able to feel much, I guess they would stay barfoot. But they are able to wear boots, theoretical.
Maybe, they get themself Horseshoes? Propably personal preference, since the medical reason for horseshoes kinda falls flat with microbots that keep you in check...

The only two bodys that would never wear any kind of shoes would be Galotians and Nagas, since they lack both basic biology to wear any. thy lack ankles, that is.

A well, a majorety of cloths does not demand enclosed feet, and the ones that do, the airtight ones, do make little sence anyways.
Just imagen a Taur in a Acient Spacesuit, or even more funny, a Naga. How would a Naga even move if its coils are enclosed? Would it need to more jump then slither?

Other then the airtight suits, I guess one could aguree that steele prefers barfoot if that is what you wish. Footfetish is a niche, anyways and i doubt that there is any content that exspecial states you wear shoes.
Except maybe on Iceball, but anyone that goes out there barfoot out of choice should loose a inteligencepoint, anyways. Not that they are worth anything.

Thanks for the input everyone. I was sorta trying to envision what my Steele looked like, and when I got to her feet, I was kinda stumped. It's still a little hard to imagine just what dog like features on human feet would look like but it does present an interesting/funny thought. If my Steele let her toe nails/claws grow out a bit and walk around her ship barefoot, would she make a "click-click-click" sound as she padded around?

Not practical, It would slip eigther off or it would get ruined by being draged over the floor.
There is a reason Nagas are usually desripted without any cover for their tail.

Do ausar wear shoes or foot covering?

Yes. They have the same foot structure as humans, just with fur. There's plenty of art of Anno or Syri wearing shoes/stockings/boots.

Does this mean that ausar feet are human in shape but just furred and tipped with dog claws/nails? What about pads? Do ausar have pads on their feet and hands?

Yep. I don't think pads are ever mentioned one way or the other; I imagine they don't, personally, but I'm not picky about how artists depict them.

I consider you, Fen, and Hugs the go to on ausar anatomy. So if you say they don't have pads, that works for me. Though, if their hands and feet are more human like, are their palms and soles furless, like humans?

I mean I literally made the ausar, so I ought to be :p

And no, their feet are fully covered. That's why they gotta wear shoes: can't have dirt and grime building up in the fur!

Idly. I wonder if that's why real life dogs have the pads in the first place...

That is, as opposed to the bottoms of their feet being covered in fur too.

So is the conclusion of this discussion that the Ausur evolved in a sheltered environment that did not require padded undersides of their feet?

Dogs don't wear shoes like us and their small structure requires some form of soft comfort. Things feet are bound, leather like or padded.

I beg to differ...

Also it's like saying dogs don't like wearing clothes, my dog a pitbull mix during winter time will go to the door to go out and sits there looking at the coat rack waiting and telling me to put her coat on. Yes our dog has her own winter coat

Not the game, but there are snippets somewhere that mention "Kaithrit Sphinx Warriors" or something like that.
Well no wonder I didn't notice. I haven't taken the time to read all the codex entries recently and I haven't played in like a year.

Oh no, I meant a scene somewhere, you or another character mentions someone else looks like one or something. I'm very fuzzy on the details mind you.
