i can't play the game

I'm playing on steam after the most recent update i can't load any saves it says i can't connect to the cloud and when i start a new game it goes through character creation then to garth sending me out with cait to find her attackers, but the scene immediately transitions to the end of winter wolves with garths wife coming home with garret and then a bunch of random scenes before just dumping me in the frost hound with several random quests started

Had something similar happen whenever I tried to load a newer savefile version onto an old version of the game. Did your game update properly on Steam?

Apart from that, I also remember the game struggling with giving you access to your cloud whenever another game was struggling to upload to the cloud. Like I was never able to load CoC2 savefiles while W40K: Rogue Trader was trying to save onto the Steam cloud.

i tried uninstalling and installing and file verifying but none of it worked
