how to use ship storage on mobile?

sorry if it's obvious but I've searched everywhere for info on this, I play tits on mobile and it works great except I cannot store anything in the ship, just highlight items, inspect, accept, or cancel.

please tell me how to use the storage while playing on mobile

You have to choose one of the item tabs along the top right of the screen.
