Game takes me straight to the sex menu or is that in some event other than the first meeting in the milking place I haven’t gotten?

If you've done the the "date her" scene and chosen the "be lovers" option you should have unlocked the "private talk" option which is where you'll find the discussions about children and marriage. If you did not choose the "be lovers" option you've screwed you're chance.
