How is steam version of CoC2 different from the free version on fenoxo.com?
I have been looking around for the specifics on how they differ, and could not find a mention anywhere.
Is it just literally the same game?

Right on the wiki, on the frequently asked questions portion. TLDR, they're the exact same minus some steam exclusive goodies like achievements and cloud saving. If you back the game via Patreon or Subscribstar you'll get an email with a code you can pop into the beta tab for backer builds on steam.
