How does Spellblade accuracy work?

I have a bunch of stats pumped into agility, willpower and strength. To my knowledge agility affects accuracy.

I use the spiraled blade and use attacks like power wave and normal attacks enchanted by blue flame blade...however I constantly miss.

I thought it was bad rng for a bit, but I continued to notice a high number of misses that I decided I either am misunderstanding how the accuracy system works or I have a bug.

I'm 99% sure i'm misunderstanding so can anyone clarify why my to hit is so poor with spellblade skills?

Sure.

You get some Accuracy for every point you put into Agility. You also get accuracy from your gear, mostly from your weapon, and from powers/conditions. If your total Accuracy is equal to the enemy's dodge stat (eg. Evasion), you should have about a 15% chance to miss. For every point of difference, the miss chance goes up or down by 1%.

In order to add the accuracy from your weapon onto your spells, your weapon must have the [Catalyst] tag. f.ex, if you have +10 Accuracy from your stats, and a weapon that has +10 Accuracy, your total Accuracy bonus is +10 with spells and +20 with weapon attacks. If the weapon had the Catalyst tag, though, you'd be at +20/+20. You'd also be adding the weapon's CritChance/etc. to your spells!

You may want to try using powers and secondary gear (like the wide-brimmed hat) that grant bonus accuracy. Also, there are four different "dodge" stats: Evasion (for weapon attacks), Physical Resistance (for body attacks), Magic Resistance (for spells), and Mental Resistance (for... mental stuff. Like teasing!). If you're finding that you constantly miss an enemy, that enemy may just have a very high resistance to that type of attack. Try powers that target a different dodge type (like teasing).

Now it would be interesting to know whether Power Wave is coded as a spell regarding catalyst interactions as it is tagged as such but the actual attack is described as a weapon attack (which would use any weapons accuracy bonuses).

If it has the spell tag, it counts as a spell. Flavor text doesn't matter.

Unless it also has the weapon tag, in which case God knows.

To my knowledge, it is tagged as [Melee], [Weapon] and [Spell].
This means, as far as I understand it:

[Melee]: its is a melee attack (in this case with the caveat of it working like a ranged attack regarding specific interactions)

[Weapon]: adds the equipped weapon's accuracy and critical hit bonuses

[Spell]: adds the weapon's accuracy and critical hit bonuses if it has the [Catalyst] tag

The [Spell] tag would be redundant in this case, wouldn't it be? Unless it:
a) only serves to mark the added magical effect of this specific power
b) uses your weapon to attack but not its bonuses to accuracy and critical hit, unless it is also a catalyst
c) is tagged this way to make sure it works with the Arcane Strike perk of the Black Mage class (adds willpower to critical hit chance for spells)

I don't want to bug anyone about it or drag this discussion/thread on unnecessarily but I've asked myself this for quite some time now. (Can't help it, I'm always looking for specific interactions and synergies in games :D)

[Spell] is not redundant because that tag makes sure to block the skill if you are silenced, and also gives it scaling from your spellpower, amongst other things.

You cannot use power wave if you are disarmed or silenced, and it derives scaling from both weapon and spellpower.

Alright, thanks for the clarification!
