Gold and Silver Rings

So in the wiki it says the silver ring is a rare drop in Mhen'ga and the gold ring in Tarkus but nothing else.
Does anyone know where to find one?
Does it drop from fighting enemies or just proc when wandering around?

'Rare drops' are assigned by planet and can be obtained from any fight on that planet.

If you've unlocked all the Codex Fiction entries on Mhen'ga or Tarkus, Rings will drop instead.
