Gauging interest.

Hi. I'm thinking of creating a terminal game in python in which you play as a demon. It'll have plenty of transformations, maps and what I hope to be an interesting sex mechanic. Before I commit to this I'd like to know how many of you would be interested? It won't have any art, and that's mainly why I'm asking.

Too vague. Could be damn near anything. You have to realise how massively oversaturated the indie porn game industry is at the moment- it's not that I'm pointedly UNinterested in your game, it's just that there's nothing in your description to make me think about it as anything other than "another game". If you want to gauge interest you're going to need to go into more depth about what (if anything) makes your game unique.

Right. For example, I'm a gay man, so my interest is dependent entirely on the pairings available. Since you haven't listed any pairings or for that matter, the other kinks involved, there's very little to gauge interest in. Obviously, kinks and pairings are important to everyone, not just minority consumers like myself.

Let's list what we know and what we don't;
MC is a demon. Gender unknown.
Kinks: Transformation, others unknown
Pairings: Unknown
Playstyle: Unknown
Genre: Unknown beyond 'porn game'

You see the issue? There are so many games out with nothing to recommend them. If you want to separate yourself from the herd, you need something unique as a selling point, and you need to be very explicit with details regarding your game idea.

Basically, you need a hook, that is to say a selling point that catches the notice of people. As its been said, the market right now is swamped with porn games of all kinds and just having a vague idea is like saying you have no idea at all.

You need your game to stand out. Let's just take a look at what you've said OP:
The MC is a demon? Yeah, and is such in a couple of dozen games.
There are transformation? Again, plenty of those games about.
Maps? Honestly that should be standard and not a unique selling point.
Sex mechanic? Well I'd certainly hope there would be in a porn game.

Look, don't take what we're saying too harshly. Most people want developers to succeed, but if you're trying to gauge an idea for a porn game at a time when porn games are everywhere, even on Steam, you need to have more than "Transforming Demon has sex" as your pitch. So, develop the idea more, get it to the point where you have a clearer idea and then start gauging interest. And for god's sake, that actually means having a basic plot, unique selling points of the game, a list of potential pairings, kinks/fetishes and tell people how the game will be played. Too often people have gone off, added a sentence and decided that was enough.
