Title is more for amusement than anything But I found a little issue lorewise after doing a different sort of run. I love the Kitsune don't get me wrong, they're great and ironically enough the most human acting of all the races lorewise right now. They have faults, good traits, bad traits. All bundled up in the glorious clusterfuck that is tradition and decorum that simply does not change quickly due to longevity (Heck you can even see this trait in Harry Potter, Magical people live so long that while most of the world has progressed rapidly, they're still stuck victorian at best!)
But that's not the point I was trying to make. The issue I've uncovered was after attempting a different kind of approach. Doing everything and binding oneself to the kitsune 'before' finding Kiyoko's pendant. Went whole shebang, took control of the orcs, saved the centaurs. Cleansed some hornets, Put a bird in a tower, pat a pup. Debated a Druid, ran a train on some Dryads, figured out the truth and all I got was this lousy mirror. Deposed a corrupt politician . The list goes on and I'm running out of amusing phrases to describe the quests. POINT BEING. I got turned into Keros' champion complete with fluffy tails and with a fake soul that may or may not say made in taiwan somewhere on it. And so then I finally go solve some riddles and snag the necklace of eternal foxwifeitude.
She treats you as if you're just some random shmuck and doesn't draw attention to you being kitsune or Keros' champion at all. You can still ask her about Kitsune and she doesn't just point at you and go "You're kidding right?" Godswar and astral plane dialogue is fine. But I'd think that questions regarding race and history have some minor tweaks, mostly to point out that you should already know this due to your station, but perhaps you're asking in order to see from her perspective / see how much time has passed. (Fun Fact: We don't obviously. But it's nice to have the benefit of the doubt sometimes) And again in dialogue inside the Astral plane, if you ask about Keros she treats it as if you're just some potato and not just trying to get new perspectives on your assumed boss.
I'd assume you showing up in all your splendor, especially considering you're quite literally touched by the divine when you drift on into her humble abode. She'd act even more giddy about there being someone there, and instead think "Holy shit! Keros' Champion themselves are coming to finally save me from this torment!" Probably in a much classier and eloquent way but. You get the point I'm trying to make. Especially considering we don't need to ask about feeding and chi, as that on the other hand is covered quite nicely by Keros when he converts us. If anything Miss MILF-to-Be should be asking the question as to why as what is essentially the Kitsune of Kitsunes has so much life energy for themselves. something that to my knowledge they don't naturally produce themselves due to the whole soul thing.
I dunno I guess it just seems like a small oversight that only comes up in a niche approach to the game, but Still I think it would be nice to have this Champion of Keros come wandering in, Her hopes soar higher and higher, and then realize not only are they nearly completely ignorant of their customs and language. But that she'd basically be teaching him things he should already know due to his position (time not really being something she can keep track of inside the planes.) While she'd still ask for the questline to proceed as normal and give her a metric fuckload of babies. I think the idea of her also teaching you your station and things you should know would be seen as her both giving equivilent exchange as per their customs Along with as some divine given quest to educate the Champion in order to properly earn her freedom. While again, her freedom is guaranteed so long as we proceed down the questline. Based on what I personally get from understanding the Kitsune and their methodology, she'd still happily wish to be your wife, but also want to help you grow into the best champion you can be.
Not to mention the side note at the end of this thought process being that if Keros has shaped you personally as his champion, Going through the process of making Kinu? Wouldn't she have an even stronger connection to the divine beyond her family status and the fact her dad is literally her god's right and man? Perhaps boosted Presence/Cunning or something? Doesn't need to be a overhaul of her or anything just a sort of Else/if argument of "If Champion of Keros: Then +2 to X, Else +0" Or something, I don't code I'm just a potato in the end.
