Forwarding time in the game

Holding down "1" while sleeping on the ship used to be a great way to forward time.

Now the hotkey for that is "T".

Or you could use the Time Skip function of the Cheat Menu.

I would not consider having cheats turned on a regular game function, Theron. It's not a good thing, if the game itself encourages players to turn them on because a convenient way to do it already existed before, that's not there anymore since it got changed.

maybe you should say these things in your original post instead of a vague, generic statement with little to no indication of purpose. for all Theron, or anybody else knows, you could've been completely unaware of cheats and Theron was attempting to be helpful. in fact, the format of your thread title implies this as it is such a question as it is very common for people to title threads about something they are asking about.
