when choosing your champions gear do you do it solely based on the stats it gives or do you also take into consideration what it looks like

I for example can never resist the Izkanti Dress despite there being better caster options

Both when possible. If not, I keep a build that might not be optimal, but works from a roleplaying angle and doesn't make fights impossible. For example, my main Champion is a black mage/charmer that's conscious about that one part of Savarra being a very cold place

Stats, more often than not. Fortunately, I don't see most of them as that ugly, anyway. A couple of the hats and one of the pairs of gloves seem stupid, but that's it and I don't see those as the best, currently. At times, I've favored warm things because it's supposed to be cold everywhere but the Marefolk Village and I want to beat the glacier hazard further north each time. Some of those articles had other good stats, too, though.
