For devs: Will there be more main quests after you find all the pods?

The most holiest of grounds
Currently loving TiTS more than most games these days but this has burned at the back of my mind for quite a while now, what will happen in the game and to the game once you find all of your father's pods?

And as a side question, is there a chance of TiTS having music?

Pretty sure the consensus on music is a big nope, due to substantial size bloat, different tastes, and so on. Most players would probably either turn it off or rather their own choice of music play. Also, things cost money. Money better used for more/refined content.

As for storyline, it sounds like the eponymous tainted space will eventually influence, perhaps even derail Steele's initial quest. Only the devs could have a glimmer on what it means. Or perhaps they don't yet know either. Or maybe that was just fun with acronyms. All in time.

I'm not opposed to having some post-credits DLC-like stuff, but it's more likely we'll move on to another project at that point.

The initial quest could def. use some derailing. It's already reached the point of premise-running-thin since nothing has been added to it. It's not building up toward anything or offering a sense of progression or revealing anything new and we've seen no twists or turns. A carrot on a stick will eventually rot.

Even good anime often takes three episodes of Monster of the Week before the underlying plot gets rolling. The initial inheritance race feels the impetus for the game- the Call to Adventure. Assuming a 12 episode series for comparision, that's a whole 25% used on startup. TiTS was said to be aiming for 10 main storyline planets, and let's ignore side planets factoring in. We're only 3 main planets in- plenty of time for plot.

And to be fair, it's been stated a few times now that TiTS is porn first, rpg second. Epic quest, world building, character development and so on all fall a distant second to providing a cornucopia of fap material. Even so, I think they're doing a damn good job of fitting it in.

Your analogy of the rotten carrot on a stick is therefore not quite right. The incentive on a stick isn't a carrot, it's a pomegranate, and players are happily suckling it. The carrot is in a damp corner, sadly ignored by most.

We wait and see what the next acronym will be...

The depth is what makes it as good as it is. It's more personal.

I say the carrot on the stick is rotting because there's been no story whatsoever post-intro and the bizarre nature of it and what it sets up beg for expansion. There's no meaningful interaction with Steele Jr.'s cousin, they don't learn anything about their father or the history of the bad blood that's the whole impetus for the rivalry, nothing happens to expand on the quest at all or to make it more personal or exciting - it's fair to say there -isn't- a plot to the main quest. The probes have just been serving as a justification to go to each place and experience that particular area's episodic side plot.

Even when the goal of a story is in taking a journey to a specific place and all the content is in the adventures along the way the -reason- for the journey needs to be explored and the personal struggles of the characters have to be played out during the trip.

What's happened is that everyone got so focused on doing this for their waifus that the main plot and its characters (Steele Jr., Jack/Jill, Victor Steele and his brother) have been entirely neglected. The whole "porn first" notion reeks of excuse; it's not as if CoC didn't have a progressing story where each step in the main plot expanded on the initial premise, provided twists that complicated the story, and/or raised the Champion's personal stake in the quest. There was basic storytelling there so that doesn't serve as a good reason for why there's been none here.

More than anything it just doesn't seem to have captured the main writers' imaginations much.
