Feral-like species?

We seem to have an abundance of species that fit more or less into the humanoid or tauric categories. Even the more animal-like types fall closer to being anthros that prefer to move on all their limbs than anything else.

What are the chances of the game getting more interactable npcs from species that bear the physiology of a feral animal but enough intelligence and manipulation capable in their forelimbs for them to have advanced to a space-faring civilization? Something that would pass the harkness test and is more or less forced to use all of its limbs or body for locomotion.

Low but not impossible. Firstly and foremost, this is a porn game and most people (sadly, imo) only find human-like aliens sexy. That or it's a "play it safe" situation but most probably the former.

Frostwyrms and arguably cuntsnakes fit what you're looking for. Iirc Fanfir are also supposed to be quadrapedal naturally, but they're obviously still very humanoid.

Nothing really prevents more content of that nature from being added, but that particular fetish obviously just isn't that popular in this community. If you want more you're probably either going to have to write or commission it yourself.

From what I can recall from the codex, I think that they are basically humanoid heads and torsos with sorta tendrils for legs and wings in place of arms. Think seath the scaleless from dark souls, and you'll get some sort of picture. Of what I mean.

They're basically wyvern-taurs. Definitely no tendrils to be had.

I see, can't be helped I guess.

Slightly strange though, that people are willing to go for taurs but not the extra step. Take the "dryad" or even the leithan for example: If they weren't taurs the only part to swap the upper body with would be the head and I'd estimate that the part people generally fuck is 90% of the creature and not even remotely human. A deer for the dryad and some sort of reptile for the leithan, probably part croc part komodo dragon.

I don't hold people at fault. It's not like being interested in anything other than a human is evolutionarily sound, so I don't expect a lot that will go the extra mile even if the character has human capacities. That is my limit, unless it can reason and speak like a human it just doesn't feel right. May be the same for others but their limit is earlier.

I do wonder how this inter-special interest has even survived though. One could pin it on simple horniness but I think something else is at play. With relative certainty one can say that one of the first faiths was animism, belief in the spirits of animals and nature or something similar. No doubt their shamans or practitioners tried to emulate the animals that were central to how they viewed themselves, wearing animal head hoods and furs in order to invoke power or some shit. Perhaps the practitioners allowed those with inter-special interests to propagate through ritualistic sex and those who had those interests were especially drawn to them? I don't know. It would be an interesting study to read, though, if someone ever goes into it.

I personally suspect that, being a smutty game, it has more to do with this:

People tend to be okay with animalistic bits here and there, but getting rid of certain features (especially facial ones) may be repulsive to them. You'd think it wouldn't be a problem in a game that supposedly features aliens, but writers and players flock toward certain tastes.

Yeah, if you look at Gene's picture, it's just a torso with wings instead of arms, and then instead of legs he has two tails.

Tbh, the descriptors for both him and in the codex is kinda confusing and leaves a lot of blank spaces.

Who came up with the species? Maybe we can ask them for the full picture.

They basically have the lower body of a T-Rex, albeit with two tails. Their upper body is what you would typically expect with a taur, but instead of arms they have wings with claws. It's all in the codex under appearance.

Codex said:
Fanfir are vast sentient creatures from the low gravity world of Haerum. They have heavy musculature in their upper bodies and back whilst are slimmer and lithe in their torso region and digitigrade legs, lending them a hunched, looming profile.

There's also the Fanfir in Cherry's Tap House who has two legs and two tails, and Gene's full bust does show off his muscular thighs.

Ah, I always assumed those were his tails, not his thighs.

Wow, they must look kinda odd compared to a regular being.

I honestly cant picture them without them looking silly.

Wish we had a full body species ref.

Did a quick thing. I'm not an artist but this is what I imagine in my mind. This is only from the side and excludes any possible hair, facial horns they might have, and the smaller modded or cyber arms. I don't know the configuration of the toes so I just included all possibles. The tails might also be longer than I think they are, I also think I read something somewhere about feathery tips but decided not to include that to be safe.

I think you about nailed it. The legs are probably supposed to be a bit bigger going off of the Tap House Fanfir's description, but otherwise it's a good reference.

We have. See fubmistress' Gene in the imagepack. Gen's is a wyvern with a double-ended tail.
