The developer did change the game. They pretty much did a find/replace with "mom" for "landlady" or "Ms.Turner". The dad is now the "landlord". The opening few lines of the game talk about "My landlord wants me to go to military school like he did", it's bizarre.

There will, no doubt, be a fix patch which restores all the juicy content. I'm pretty sure all the other games have them.

It already exists, my friend (and comes bundled with most *ahem* "third party redistributions" of the game).
