Does Garret leave the tavern after Gweyr Quest?

So I got an event between Garret and his parents where they signed him up with the mercenary company, they said he might leave anytime soon. So I’m wandering if he actually gets removed from the game via this event and if so is there anyway to stop it?

In silly mode, it's mentioned that the mercenary camp will arrive to collect him in the epilogue. So Garret will be available at the tavern for all your drinking or sexing needs for as long as the game lasts.
