Does uncaging her with Lumia's help destroy the cage? I always had that doubt
Well, getting to Lumia requires beating Winter Wolf, so 9 times out of 10 I get to Alissa waaay before I get to Lumia. I'd imagine it's the same for everyone else.
Getting it off by beating Alissa is more poetic, though.

eh, arguable. i prefer the self-advocacy to the direct assist by the pc
That's fair, I prefer her freedom being the culmination of her story with alissa rather than a (very literal) deus ex machina
Lumia because I get to lay the princess AND the goddess.
It also gives you access to the confession scene after you return from Dracia, WITHOUT having to pick Elthara to help you OR losing your anal v card, which also happens if you don't invite Lumia for the fun.
So, I guess my reasons are more practical than narrative.
