Honestly I'm not much of a furry. I prefer humanoid beings in general. With a minor exception with taurs and nagas. I don't typically find things with a none human face attractive.

Oh wow, I'm genuinely shocked that there's such a huge bias towards the monstergirl type

I'm happy with both (though I prefer furry) so I don't mind, I just expected full furry to be the default... apparantly not

I'm on the other side that most of you. I have a strong bias favoring furries and against monstergirls. I usually try to picture monstergirls and fully anthro characters. (And I prefer boys for that matter, but, you get the idea).

You probably spend too much time on furry sites then. Furry is a small niche, since the vast majority of people are never going to find a dog's head sexually attractive, while most people (under a certain age, I imagine, the 40+ crowd is probably quite underrepresented in both cases) are quite alright with anime style dog ears on a cute human head. As TiTS is text-based I don't mind, but had the game at any point forced me to spend time looking at graphic furry porn, I wouldn't touch it again with a ten inch pole. For instance, I'm quite frequently disgusted by the images attached to the games' updates, yet I have several full furry characters among my favourites (Kiro, Miranda from FoE, Jerynn, Lund etc.) due to how they're written rather than (or despite) how they canonically look. Sometimes I even hide the busts of furry characters.
No offense meant to people who like or prefer furry. I'm not suggesting furry is bad, I'm just saying that it's extremely far from my preferences, which doesn't even matter much for a text game.

I probably do spend too much time on furry sites lol, this one included

But calling the furry fandom "small niche" is not really accurate. It's quite popular, and can probably be classified as a major porn category, even if you remove all the non-porn furry stuff (which people frequently forget exists)

I'm firmly in the BOTH area. Not surprising considering I was raised on a steady diet of anthropomorphic animals in my Saturday morning cartoons and all the sexy aliens in tv shows and movies such as Star Trek and Star Wars. Throw in modern video game series like Mass Effect... well, let's just say that I've never been one to discriminate based on ethnic background, and I know that wouldn't change do to someone having a few animalistic features.
