Deciding what to do with a pc.

Right now I'm typing on an All-In-One Hp PC that I nabbed on a Walmart Black Friday sale to use for my college projects about 8 years ago.

However I was thinking about a new PC when I remembered that my Mom gave me the old PC they bought over 20 years ago. I am thinking about buying a new PC, but I also wonder could I be able to rebuild that old 20 year old PC? It's a tower model HP Pavilion.

What do you mean rebuild did you take it apart, or was it taken apart?

You could slap a linux on it and turn it into a NAS or DNS sinkhole, but 20 years is quite a large processing power difference to today.
