Curious about kitsune colors for champ.

Okay, genuine question here. When champ is remade as a kitsune by Keros, I seem to recall that champ can pick white tails and ears which begs the question. Shouldn't that have a bigger impact than just going unmentioned? If I recall correctly, white tails is specifically something that those linked to Keros's concubines has, i.e royalty and major nobility specifically? I know that it's not mentioned because it would be too much writing, especially since there's other options for the color, but it just feels sorta weird that it goes unmentioned, at least I recall that it does. For all I know that might have changed since I did a fluff champ last time.

That being said it calls into question if it's official because if it is that means PCs that pledge to Keros should able to use Dommy dragon spear.

That's not necessarily true, since white tails are for both royalty and major nobility. So white isn't exclusive to those of royal standing. And even if white was exclusive to royalty, the champ isn't given a royal title, so they still wouldn't be able to pull the spear out. A bastard with white tails wouldn't be royalty, despite having royal blood after all.

Well there was never a differentiation between official acknowledgment, being born in royalty, or gaining it. And we haven't been shown this world to disregard a bastard's claim to royalty or nobility so who knows if that right isn't in play.

Kinda surprised that this post hasn't gotten more attention from anyone on the writing team to be honest. Usually they're quick to confirm whether something like this is canon, or of it it does or doesn't matter. For now I'll assume that the white color isn't canon, seeing as anything less than that wouldn't make sense, especially if it isn't confirmed by anyone who does writing about the fluff-house.

My two cents: the major Kitsuhon nobility that are normally the only ones with white hair/fur are descended from Keros, so presumably white hair/fur is associated with Him; as such, it wouldn't be too surprising to see one of His appointed Champions also have white hair/fur.
True, that would make some degree of sense to me. It still seems like something the others in the fluff-house would comment on though. Sure they talk about the champion thing, but even then, if white fluff was truly a canon option, then they logically would've mentioned that part too if that makes sense? Especially when you consider that other options but white are available to the player. Had the transformation itself just come with white fluff exclusively, then them not mentioning it makes sense, because it would automatically be assumed that the white fluff was a part of the whole champion deal. But when there's other options, it begs the question if white should've even been something the player could pick if the other fluffers aren't going to mention it regardless.

It's probably something they left off to expand on in a later entry but it is a plot hole, especially when you factor in other content within the game. White being a dye, Keros' white would have to be given a unique identity through context and that can bleed into surrounding content and future content, shit can get real messy real quick if Tobs leaves it to stagnate or goes the wrong direction.

On another note, Cait is kind of weird to me because of how she's characterized through gameplay and writing. On one hand her "bimbo with a brain" gimmick is excellent and she comes off as a lovely girl to have a night on the town with. On the other her thot lvls are disturbingly similar to thots you'd see in those interviews with podcasters, they'll hold out on the person they like while they fu$k other ppl; like, in the earlier moments of the game she'll fuck anyone you tell her to and randoms (e.g. crazy horse, fucks virgin at the back alley by herself and Brint) but not the player until they show affection? Is that on purpose?
This is entirely unrelated to what this thread was about. If you want to talk about Cait and her sexual inclinations, then there are other places to do so. This thread isn't that.

Talking about something you don't like is a gripe so take that up with Webster's dictionary, man. It's more of a gripe because I was referring to it from a gameplay and reading perspective, I was going to add that the player shouldn't be able to view scenes that involve telling her what to do until they fu$k her or just have them to be able to ask her from the start.
This isn't a thread about gripes towards Cait. This is a thread related to the colors of the kitsune champ's tails, lmao. So I don't care if it's the definition of a gripe that you have, this particular thread isn't the place to talk about it. Go to the thread literally called Your gripes with CoC2, instead of bringing up a totally random subject, on a post that isn't even remotely related to whatever your gripe is.

Not necessary - white being nobility can kinda be like purple being nobility in our world. Sure (especially in antiquity) wealthy lords and dukes probably had the resources to create purple robes/clothing and parade around like emperors. Would they do it? No, because they'd be killed if they did so.

So I'm guessing that could be a thing in CoC too? Sure, any kitsune can dye their tail white, but unless they want to be a pariah and/or assassinated, they wouldn't do it. But our champion is outside that framework because s/he's the personal champion of Keros, which means no self-respecting Kitsune nobility would kill our champion for having white fur

I would agree with you if the intense xenophobia gimmick weren't a thing, even when you are Keros' champ you get treated and referred to with begrudging respect. That is a solid point tho.

We may have white fur and red eyes, but we don't have... "godmarks" it's called? Red brows and such - like Rindo do.

Thats why Tetsuya says that we look like noble, not royalty.
Sorry for necro.
