Critical error during The Siege of Khor'Minos quest

I encountered a critical error during State 2 of The Siege of Khor'minos quest. During the battle with the demon smugglers, when any smuggler is defeated, the following error displays:

Since I forgot to include this in the original post, I am using the standalone non-browser version of the game on Windows 11.

So it turns out deleting and redownloading the whole thing fixed the issue right up, save file still intact.
