They do less, not more; That's what a nerf means.

I haven't had a chance to do any comparison testing to see what the difference in damage output is but the patch notes do say that the reduction is 'considerable'.

It was already enough of a pain in the ass getting through some enemies with stupid amounts of armor and pen resist as a crit thief and it seems like it will be getting even worse now with crit damage getting cut in half.

I know what a nerf is. I'm talking about much extra damage it does compared to a normal attack

My testing is showing that a crit does a little more than twice as a much damage as a normal hit with 17 Cunning.

Where did you get the +50 attack power from? Cause I'm pretty sure that the Codex hasn't been updated in a while

It's essentially meant to work like Twist the Knife, another thing which didn't work properly and gave more damage than it should have.

Well, RIP pure Black Mage damage builds. That class already had much less impressive damage range against single targets, and now the main way it got around that (more frequent crits) got nerfed. Time to respec into battle mage - as soon as black magic will get its weapon buffing powers.

Well, at least the bosses that do physical damage should be slightly more manageable now.

It still DOESN'T work like that, but it's closer in line to what we wanted.

Basically what happened is that instead of crits adding Attack Power, they were multiplying the net damage after AP. They're still multiplicative right now but just not as much.
