Feruze says to wander in the brothel but nothing seems to come of it. I saw a thread from 2022 that mentioned it wasn't implemented then, is that still the case?

IIRC, it used to be that you Wander around, but it was changed due to proving too unreliable.

Turns out it is possible to learn about Feruze's Contact with Wander, but as TheShepard says, it's unreliable. There's a random encounter with a Peer, then a couple of hours later she'll give you the lead.
