Corruption Wraith vs Demon. coc1 spoilers.

So wraiths are interesting they seem to be more like traditional demons, requiring hosts to corrupt.
To quote the lore

The spirits that slipped through into Savarra came to be called Wraiths by those who fought against them. The Wraiths possessed the mages of Estelore, using them like puppets in order to revel in the sensations of the physical world. Others were drawn to their power: spirits from the mortal world's aether, monsters from the dark and unknown places of the world. Minotaurs, harpies, and other beast-kin began to breed many times faster, create spawn stronger and smarter than ever before, infused with the Wraiths' power.

So which corruption is stronger? From coc1 the gods in mareth where nearly wiped out by the time the champion got there. But to be fair i'm not aware how long the demons where going at it.
The wraiths on the other hand, seemed take over extremely quickly and where subdued by the gods of Savarra unlike the gods of coc1.

So which corruption is more effective and dangerous?
Second question did the gods of coc1 lose due to the strength of the demons or sheer ignorance?
Third question how long did each conflict last. I.E godswar in coc2 and the demon war or corruption in coc1.
