Confusing Menu & Options Screen "Back" Functionality With Escape Key

TL;DR: Found some main menu & options jank (where basically "escape" will just go between main menu and options and never close the main menu - and can also make it so clicking the button to exit the main menu sends you to options - but only once, after escape-bugging)

Steps to reproduce:

• Press Escape Key to open menu.
• Press 4 to open options.
• Press escape key to close options.
• Press escape key to close main menu, be confused why it open options.
• Press escape key to exit options back to main menu, whewlads!
• Press escape key to... go back to options for some reason.
• Escape again back to menu. (It just loops between those two if you keep escaping).
• After looping it, you can click on the exit key on the main menu and go back to options, then click out of options, then click out of menu and get back to the game.

* There might be some other weirdness possible, but this is the specific example I just puttered with.

OK serious question but how in God's name did you figure this out? Cuz this is some Mario Sunshine speedrun levels of convoluted.

I went to use the options screen and tried to leave it with escape. "It brought you back to me" -Options menu.

Then I just put down highly specific steps to guarantee those that follow can actually reproduce it, as all good bug reports should
