This idea isn't fully formed, so it will seem a bit scattered and brainstormy right now but I welcome any input that might help flesh it out.

I'm thinking about the doctor on the jungle planet having captured and experimented on a Naleen and for whatever reason it resulted in him amputating her snake portion and mounting the lower half of a sexbot onto her. The resulting kitty/sexbot cyber hybrid is none too happy about the forced change, and wants help. Perhaps you could help her get revenge, and perhaps you might even help her with her problem. You know if you've been to Tarkus that there are sexbots there that can at least partially reshape themselves. If you get her the right parts and/or assistance, she could have her lower half with the humanoid (or kaithrit maybe?) legs upgraded so that she could shift them back into the familiar coils she once had and possibly even change back and forth at will if you can convince her that legs aren't so bad a thing to have. Preferably by spreading them...

I imagine her as very intelligent, kinda a sexy kitty science girl thanks to her computer-upgraded brains but also kinda meloncholy. Angry at what was done to her, sad about the loss of innocence and the fact that she can never return to her people, and lonely. When you ask her name, she tells you

"He only called me Naleen when he bothered to talk to me at all. I know it's not a name, Naleen is what I am, or at least what I was. I'm not quite sure what I am now and I don't know who I am either. I wasn't a person to him, just a numbered experiment. To my people I'm half a ghost grafted onto a dead thing, a monster. Either way it's not much to build an identity around."

If you successfully help her you'll get the opportunity for sex and the ability to name her, and some suggestions on how to help her forge a new identity. Maybe she could become an employee, or a crew member, or be hooked up with another NPC for the possibility of work and a relationship. And of course, later story bits could be done with her if the character proves popular.

I don't think that would fit what Dr. Haswell is into very well (though you'd have to ask Fenoxo for sure; he wrote him), unless perhaps it was a benign change -- say, after her snake half was critically injured or somesuch. Elsewise, you might want to invent your own mad cyborg sex-doctor to do the experimentation, as that would give you full autonomy to write up a revenge plotline and bring them down (which would be great; more adventures are always good).

I didn't get much of a read on the Doctor's morality one way or the other beyond the fact that he's perfectly willing to have you capture the local sentient wildlife for his experiments. Maybe he's cruel, or not I didn't write the character either so I can't say for sure. If his writer says he's not that bad, there are ways around that.

For example, she could be unaware that her tail was cancerous and he detected that while she was in his laboratory. If you talk to him instead of jumping straight to the attack, he might explain that he intended to release her intact and unharmed but he found out that she had the tumors and acted to save her life. That would be a further emotional punch to the poor kittygirl, realizing that her vengeance quest was futile as well.

"Is this how it is to be, then, even my vengeance taken from me? What little purpose I had, stripped away as well?"

You might have to talk her down from doing anything foolish, or maybe even fight her to get her to come to her senses, but then you could suggest options to her.

One would be to join your crew, one might be to provide medical care to her people, another option might be to go back into the jungle and work to uplift her people on their terms, not those of the outworlders. You could discover that that email about the Naleen princess being held by Xenotech was accidentally true, she is of royal blood but she's become an outcast due to her altered nature and the others considered her a freak and monster to be feared. With her coils back, and the assistance of Steele corporation support and weapons contracts, she could claim her throne.

"I will give my people the choice you outworlders would not... those who wish to join me can do so, and those who wish to remain as they were following the old ways, they will do so under my protection. Me and mine will build a city in the jungle, and with your weapons we will be strong enough to remain unconquered for generations to come. I owe this all to you... when I am enthroned you may visit me at any time and reap the rewards of your heroism..."

I don't know, it's just ideas I have bouncing around.

As a fan of both cyborgs (looking forward to ripping out my characters parts and going all Shadowrun street samurai on people one day) and snake girls I greatly approve of any idea which means I can get one as a companion.

Ahh for some time I keep thinking her lower half was the grey goo not sexbot. Well to make it shifting better may be use of grey goo. Sort like someone experimenting (maybe illegaly) with use of grey goo on living organism to make some mixed beaing with half organic body anf half grey goo. But would grey goo half make her cyborg still?

The nanomachines that make up the grey goo are still machines, so the technical answer would be yes, but it wouldn't conform to the traditional idea of cyborgs.

though, naleen don't have a social structure like that to have princesses, queens and kings. They are solitary hunters who every now and then gether up to form "mating-balls".

@Lancer Well but for ingame world case of using grey goo as some sort of experiments/test would probably sound better than: so we got this mulitated naleen form waist down so we cutting it bottom and puts on bottom of some randomn (sex)bot. And much easier to make this: changable lower body form naga to bipedal form.

Why not, it could be interesting depending on how you write her up :)

I don't know how they'd really get Grey Goo, considering its only found on a backwater planet that is only relevant because the player's probe landed on it.

Just like the backwater planet you found the naleen on.

Well, assuming you didn't completely destroy the grey goo Captain, Steele Tech would have a large supply, or access to a large supply of the goo. The doctor could have heard about the properties of this substance from a new rush planet and either gotten some from Steele Tech, or hired an independent contractor to get some for him. It's not that big of a stretch really.

A gray goo sample or three could help yes, especially when it comes to expanding the transformation abilities of the sexbot lower half. Perhaps the grey goo could help the internal metal skeleton change shape, since it is a rather radical transformation. Then when she shifts some of it forms outer scales and the rest the spinal type tail structure and the silicon and synthflesh of the sexbot portion rearranges accordingly. The quest could require the chameleon circuits from several sexbots and samples from several grey goos, and the time the quest takes could depend on if you find someone else to assist her research or not. The ability to harvest those samples from the native bots of Tarkus would become available after you accept the quest from her. And of course, getting the quest itself would hinge on talking to her enough and selecting the right dialogue options to get her to tell you what her problem is and then volunteering to help.

Perhaps to complicate things, you can assist her yourself if you're the Tech character class and if not you will need assistance. What might work is to bring her to the Nova's grey goo AI, perhaps suggested by Anno. The ausar would be like "Umm this is beyond my capability, boss" but suggest the AI might be able to do something for her. After all, she's working with the grey goo and shapeshifting bodies anyhow, she should be able to work something out. She might even say that having a living sample to work with can help her with her own work on reviving the Nova's crew.

After she's successfully repaired, you can talk to her again and get more options to suggest where she should go and what she should do with her new lease on life..
