Can't run the exe?

Sorry if I'm a complete noob but I can't figure out how to run the game if it's downloaded. Every time I try to open the exe it just does nothing and I'm extremely confused.

Rename the file and add ".zip" to the end, then extract it.

I figured out the problem, with 7zip there was some error and it couldn't extract a file but with WinRAR it worked perfectly. Thanks for the help.
