i dont know what im doing wrong, i dont know what flags im missing, but i cant for the life of me get either serena to invite me to the lyceum or get specters of the wyld to proc.

yes, i have. i have given it to her, she told me to hold onto it, now im waiting to get invited to the lyceum, i have spent an in game week visiting her at the bar, but apparently she cant be fucked to invite me
How many times have you spoken to Serena?
If you've spoken to her three times, the third-time conversation causes the lyceum visit to become valid. Then you have to visit the lyceum tile at the correct time (late morning/early afternoon) in order to actually do the visit.

when i say i visited her over the course of an in game week i mean exactly that. i have talked to her every day for over a week and i have not had an invite to her lyceum. there is also no lyceum tile on the map that i can tell.
Then you aren't looking had enough...
When you've properly unlocked the visit, the tile will even be starred during the hours when the visit can happen, which should be between 8:30 and 12:30. If you aren't paying attention when talking to Serena (say, because you're trying to speed into her Talk menu) it's easy to miss the invitation itself.
