I'm playing a new playthrough with the intention of blowing up Tarkus.. my question is what happens to Shekka? is she still recruitable like Anno or just plain dead. The same with Verusha, Tessa and the rest of the bar occupants.

All NPCs on Novahome survive, with the following things to note:
  • Shekka's cure quest can't be started, so she isn't recruitable.
  • If you haven't completed Anno's recruitment quest, you'll have to recruit her as not a Steele Tech employee, which prevents the Marina-Galina foursome and thus prevents you from huskarising her. It also means you can't recruit Kase to Steele Tech, her inventory is slightly different and her buy/sell prices are slightly less favourable.
  • Aurora moves to the Mess because her shop is now inaccessible. As such, you can't buy stuff from her anymore.
  • If you haven't met Chaurmine by this time, you never will.
  • Bianca will no longer be found on Tarkus.

Ah that doesn't sound great, thanks for the info though.

Yeah there is no upside to blowing up Tarkus. It's a failstate without a game over.
Honestly, would send kind of a weird message if there was an upside.

I was only going to try because I wanted to see what changed with recruiting Anno.

Well, by doing so, the PC can seemingly unlock Nova / The Gray Goo Armor without being forced to sex Anno - as Nova / The Gray Goo Armor is seemingly gated behind that specific Ghost deck quest requirement.
That can technically be construed as an upside to an extent (at least in my opinion), as being forced to do something that one may not necessarily want to do specifically for gear upgrades is not necessarily fun design (again, in my opinion at least).

It is a pity though, that that's the only other way the PC can acquire Nova / The Gray Goo Armor (as blowing up a planet is not exactly the most desirable thing to do), as they're a relatively strong set of gear that has multiple use cases - having them be gated is rather vexing (in my opinion).
