You wouldn't "install" it on your browser but yes, if you're a backer via Patreon you can use the instructions in your welcome email to hook up to Fenoxo.com and play the backer version in your browser, but otherwise you'd need to download the standalone .apk -- and I think that's generally the more pleasant way to play, in my experience.
if you sub via substar like me, there is no integration yet, so you are kind of forced to use the .apk to access the backer content on android. i'm crazy, so i spend my main 15-dollar sub on substar for the docs and then just kind of pay five on patreon for ease of access. just plugging the substar backer code into steam works, but i play crossplatform regularly and am often without wi-fi so the .apk works best for mobile
