Kinu walked beside her father, trying to keep pace even though her expectant belly slowed her down.
"I'm sorry dear," the Champion chuckled, their voice a nostalgic reassurance. The Champion slowed their pace.
While Kinu was physically reprieved, her mind was less assured. "Father, why are we even here?"
The Champion pat their head, "I needed to get you out of the house. You were cooped up with your mother and siblings for too long and you only have a couple of months till you're going to have a child of your own with your husband. I'm sure (Nakano/Hitoshi) will understand."
Kinu nervously rubbed her arms, "But why are we at Khor'minos specially?"
"To broaden your horizons. The den is nice, but it's not everything. There is a whole world out there!"
Kinu hid behind her father, "But I am a Kitsune, a monster. They will see me a such. Couldn't I at least have gone with a glamour."
The Champion shook their head, "Honestly, dousing yourself with that kind of magic would set off the minotaurs given recent events." The Champion pulled their daughter close, "I sure that the city would welcome in with open arms the beloved daughter of the savor of their city. But I see that you are a bit on edge. Don't worry I got the perfect place and they are just excited to meet you."
The Champion and Kinu stopped by the outskirts of the city next to a charming cottage house. The Champion sweetly knocked on the door. A short while later, a stunning older cowgirl with a belly as expectant as Kinu's own and a ring on her finger opened the door and immediately started kissing her father.
"Cassia, my dear, it is so lovely to see you again. Here, I have someone I want you to meet."
Cassia nudged her way forward and beheld her, "My she is stunning. Why didn't you tell me your Kitsune wife was this beautiful?" She nudged her father playfully, "So am I due first, or is she?"
The Champion did a spit take while Kinu folded her ears. Both their faces were pure red.
"I think there may have been some miscommunications," her father coughed.
Kinu buried herself in her hands, "Keros Damned Astral Plane." She sighed, "At least Aya isn't her for this."
