Are there any people out there wishing there was a bank in the game for careless people (like me) who dosent even know how ten thousand credits just disappeared or so its much more easier to pick that option that needs your money to be bellow a certain level?

Or you could just save edit the credits back.

what now?

He floated an idea of there being a stock exchange on Tavros where you could invest in various corporations like JoyCo and Reaper Tech. They might improve or degrade in value, perhaps dependent on things that happen throughout the game. He had some of it written, but it'll be a significant distance backward on the ol' burner as of now.

I'd quite like to do a whole administrative level on Tavros where it could go anyway, because I want that for my own hopes/dreams.

How about a safe deposit box on Tavros to store more items? I generally save items that may or may not be important in future builds (like the damaged V.I. chip or the Secure MP) and it's eating into storage for other items. Or could it be that we'll get more storage on the planed ship xpac?

Gedan is planning for there to be multiple ships with expanded storage, as well as an overflow storage, where the stuff that you can't carry when you switch ships goes, on Tavros that you can only take out items from.

Fantastic! That sounds like a great solution.

Why? Just go Mass Effect route and have Steele endorse a product and/or company, store.

That would be awesome.

Hi! I'm Captain [pc.name] Steele and the Dark Chrysalis is my favorite store on Tavros station!

But in all seriousness, Space Wall Street would be pretty damn cool. I mean you can essentially be a professional prostitute already so it's kind of neat seeing Steele Jr. doing side jobs all over the galaxy to fund her quest. whoring_for_fun_and_profit.png

You know, the way the credits work, like cash in the game I imagined that the future ran on crypto ledgers, aka crypto currency, aka something like bitcoin. Their are 'banks' for that, and it would make sense that they would exist, but not really in a traditional sense. Just transfer via codex. I assume you use mobile banking IRL. When was the last time you had to go into a financial institution? Heck, most of the best ones don't have a brick and mortar lobby for customers these days.

If a big government is involved then 'crypto' currency would not be anonymous but rather, every single transaction would be tracked by said institution. Oh you'll all get your futuristic digital currency all right except big brother will be watching right over your shoulder.

There is a distinction there. Every transaction of every bitcoin is tracked in the public blockchain. In a way, there is no system that is more traceable than modern crypto currency. However, the identity of the owner of the bitcoin is not necessarily known. There are analysis that may allow a person to associate an identity back to a transaction. Falling prey to those methods are because of failures of operational security by the coin holder. So if you can get your grubby actual or digital mitts on somebodies bitcoin wallet by coercion, hacking, or whatever, those are your coins. It's just like stealing cash in that case. So to me, that's why it makes a lot of sense in the setting of this game. If the MC beats up/teases up some alien and nab their credits, the idea of a decentralized crypto currency makes sense, just like gold coins makes sense in a fantasy setting. How can I possibly do that if it is reasonably protected by any sort of security? If everyone is using some government backed credits in TiTS, which law and order has their hands in, what you'd see was an alarming pattern of assaults, rapes, and thefts performed by one X Steele. I'm sure some of the transactions from the accounts of the various aliens to Steele's would be reversed over the course of the unending number of court proceedings. That gives me an idea. TiTS: A Court Drama. Eck.

Anyway, if you want to keep nerding out about cryptocurrency, please message me. I was just saying that I don't think normal banks would make sense in this future for multiple reasons, and how I imagined the credits worked bolstered that in my imagination.

Well we can also assume that Steele Jr. is laundering all her intergalactic credits through a shadow bank institution if we want to avoid the inevitable showdown with SPACE IRS OF THE FUUUUUUUTUUUREeeeee...

I'm pretty sure that Steele runs their finances through their Steele Tech Trainee Executive account or something.

Also I'm pretty sure that the space IRS is run by the UGC and is therefore unthreatening to you and the soon to be yours megacorp for the most part.

Right. It makes sense to use real professional money launderers.

Sorry, I'm from US so the concept of a government not hostile to it's own citizens is foreign to me. :3

I'm pretty sure the UGC is too weak to be oppressive. Like you gotta turn to the sketchier megacorps to find some real evil in the setting.

Huh. I never really had to think about the scope of the UGC in that regard until now. Good to know! :)

It's less that they don't have a great scope of power, it's more than Megacorps are Megacorps. The whole point of a megacorp in most settings is to be a giant fucking buisness that fears fear, if any, actual governments and are typically amoral as all fuck.

That could had a great potential, specially if some of the stocks drop in value after certain events in-game (Snuggle stocks dropping at the start of Mhen'ga quest, then recovering a day after completing it, for example) and that the PC could manupulate it slightly, forcing the stocks to drop and raise in value.

WIth game credits system there ot much point to make smth called but rather than codex been bale to make subaccount that would be more resistant to PC trying use credits stored there. Smth like some sorth of password - but wouldn't that make us run into issue of knowing another password to fictional characeter in smut game too? Hmm maybe make it been showed in codex somewhere or instead of password adding like 1-3 additional prompts that game asking: Do you really really really want spend credits from this subaccount? Another idea is limit ways to take out credits form this subaccount by req. to visit one of Steele company npc's ingame that will let PC transfer freely credits between subacc and main acc.
